Tawii Sourdough Bakehouse — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

Couple reason this is the best place to buy sourdough in Chiang Mai and a few cons. I’ve been trying all the spots in Chiang Mai for the past year.

Consistency- everytime I buy their bread it is consistently good. The bread is fresh throughout the day. 95%of the time I come in (no matter what time of the day) I can get fresh bread. I don’t know how they do it but the bread is still nice and warm. I feel like they do small batches throughout the day. Less expensive and less complicated to order than the competition. Also 95% of the time I go in they always have bread for me unlike other places that bake once and sell out early. No reservations, no pre ordering necessary at Tawii which to me as a busy person is a god send. I just come in and get fresh bread whenever I can and they consistently provide. The staff are lovely. Prices are reasonable when compared to competitors.

Now the minor cons but honestly from all the pros these are not a big deal to me. But to be unbiased here we go. Only one type of sourdough which is white. Would be nice to have some multigrain or whole wheat or rye options.

I've been getting sourdough here for a while and it's decent, considering we are in Chiang Mai. However I was very disappointed with my last order. I got a loaf and told the staff that I would like it cut in slices. I was not aware that the bread was just out of the oven.. you don't cut bread when it's just out of the oven... When I opened the bag at home, the slices were gummy and sticky. Sorry but this is a rooky mistake. Please advise the customers if the bread is fresh from the oven (

Great place to have some quality sourdough and a toasted sandwich with good coffee. Popped in for brunch, great quick service, very well prepared food with a decent range of either sourdough bread or focaccia sandwiches (or just straight toast). All sandwiches are customisable, so if you want extra cheese or bacon in it, you can have that. Pastries looked good too, but we didn't have any. Overall, decently priced for high quality sourdough meal. Cafe walls and ceiling could use a little work to look a bit nicer, but nice clean place with little cute plant...
