We booked this hotel based on the Excellent and very good reviews, even though it is only #118 and because it was within the old city walls. I assumed that the rating was low because of the small number of reviews. This is most definitely not a 4 star hotel. The "hotel" was very disappointing. First it only has 14 rooms, a very small hotel. We booked the suite with the city view. Before booking I asked about the view and whether it was noisy. I was assured it was a quiet room. When they showed the room, i was so disappointed. First it is not a suite, it is a small room with a small bath. The same size as the other rooms. The worse part was that it faced the main street that circles the city. Even on the 4th floor, it was so loud, I don't think you could sleep here without ear plugs, preferably you should be deaf, it was that loud. After saying they didn't have another room, they found us one. It was the same size as the "suite" but on the side of the building so it was not as loud. However the room is tiny, barely room to walk around the bed, you actually could not walk all the way around the bed because one side is against the wall. It was probably the smallest bathroom I've seen in a hotel. The complimentary mini bar, is a Coke and small can of Pringles. Just a desk chair, nothing else to sit on. ||||Breakfast is very limited because of the size of the hotel, another disappointment. However the young woman working at breakfast (and other times) was very sweet. The man at front desk tried to be helpful. The people are nice, but that's true of most in Thailand.||||It is not that big a deal to be inside the old city. The river seems like a preferable location. A tuk tuk ride from the river is only $3 and 5 minutes. ||||They tripled the prices for New Years, so at $225/night this was a rip off. The most disappointing hotel on our trip. Perhaps for $80/night it is OK, but otherwise I do...

Read moreReally enjoyed our stay at this boutique hotel. The staff was great and we definitely felt like guests of someone’s home instead of an other number in a larger hotel. The location was close to everything we wanted to do, no more than 10 minutes on a Grab bike to all of the local attractions/restaurants. The picture didn’t do the room justice! The king size bed is nice and large. I was hesitate to book this hotel because the pictures made the hotel feel outdated but I’m glad I did. It was really clean and well kept. The only thing I would complain about is we were there during New Year’s and the Sunday walking street market was every evening and very loud. You can hear loud music from the market until midnight but that wasn’t their fault. After the music ended, we got a good night sleep! The breakfast options are small, if you’re looking for variety or are vegetarian/vegan, it might not be for you. We had 3 breakfast days and found the options to be sufficient and delicious! I’d rather have a small menu executed well than a lot of mediocre options. The pool area is small but again, clean and well kept. We didn’t use it. Overall, the staff of this hotel are exceptional and we...
