The Simple — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

The bar itself is pretty nice…several tables and long padded benches to sit on for each one. A selection of beer or cocktails, both very reasonably priced. The main draw is that a lot of their music acts are great. I’ve been here a handful of time, but the Thai blues band that was playing last night (27/7/25) was fantastic. We planned to just have a drink and move on, but stuck around for another round since that band was absolutely killing it. I believe they perform every Sunday night (but I could be mistaken), and I’d highly recommend seeing them. We were staying at the guest house on top of the bar for the weekend. The owner is super nice and a great patron of music. The live band we saw was so good, my bf and I had a lot of fun. It was a fresh breeze for us coming over from Saigon to see such a great music scene and the energy of the musicians as well as their musicianship here. If you want a chill bar where you can meet others, this is the place. As others have mentioned, the owner is so friendly and I had really good conversation with him. He also offered me some free watermelon he just sliced, how great!

It’s also an environment that is easy to meet other people, which is great for me as a solo traveler. Met some cool people there, both locals and foreigners.
