Close to a 4-star review. The reason why I can't give 4 stars for the food is mainly due to the selection. While it is fun and appreciated with the THUUBs own selection, the selection of standard cocktails is limited. The two cocktails we tried were good (not fantastic), but I wanted to compare the profile with things I usually drink. The reason why I couldn't give 4 stars on the atmosphere is because of the venue being tiny, which doesn't allow for different seating locations where you can for ex. experience different volume of the music. I might still have considered a 4 star had it not been for the poor lighting so we couldn't read the menus without using our phones. They could not get the portable light to work where we were seated, meaning we had to sit mostly in darkness. The staff was very alert, polite and well spoken - but disappeared at long periods or carried out conversations with one individual and leaving the bar unattended. Overall a really cool place that I would recommend but can't rate higher due to the...
Read moreThis is a small cocktail bar located on the second floor of the Thee Vijit Lanna hotel. The bar is nicely decorated and has nice mood lighting. The menu tries to tell a story but unfortunately found the menu a little hard to read with the dim lighting and due to the lack of contrast of the colours used to print the menu. We ordered a Revive (tequila based cocktail) and a Sticky rice and rum based cocktail which were both delicious. They were also beautifully served. Unfortunately the Revive seemed to be served in a plastic cup, and for a cocktail that was around 400 baht I found this to be quite disappointing. Also, at 11.30pm, whilst in the middle of finishing our drinks we were asked whether that's all and whether to bring the cheque, which felt like they were nudging us to leave? Anyway, wasn't impressed by it unfortunately. Overall it was a pleasant couple of drinks and a cocktail bar but I'd recommend to improve on...
Read moreI tried to visit this bar after experiencing great service at other bars during my trip. I walked from the west side of the Old City to the bar, located inside a small hotel, only to be told by the receptionist that it was full. I politely asked if I could wait for a seat, but he repeatedly said it was impossible, citing the bar’s closing time in an hour (even though it was only 10:20 PM and their Google listing showed a midnight closing).
As I was about to leave with my Grab Bike was already on its way to pick me up, I noticed a couple leaving and confirmed with them that they were vacating. It was frustrating to realize there was space, but the receptionist didn’t offer any help or check with the staff.
A bar like this should have a host or a more informed receptionist who can communicate better with both guests and staff. Simply saying “no” without offering alternatives left a...
