First thing that you should be aware of - this place is a part of Katathani hotel. We didn’t pay much attention, so our experience was quite far from our expectations. Everything in this is not really fair and I know that, because they do and serve what hotel and management thinks fits their clients. In end of the day, it’s not a restaurant itself, Fisherman’s Wharf is a part of meal plan from hotel. So here is a review of someone, who sees Fisherman’s Wharf as a restaurant.
To visit this place you should receive a permit to be on hotel territory. It isn’t convenient for someone like me, but makes perfect sense when you guest in hotel. No one wants people from outside sneaking around. No hate, just consider this when (if) you decide to visit place you must have a passport with you (I assume that you don’t bring passport with you, when you go to eat or swim). Food is superb if choose European cuisine. Thai food in my personal opinion was gentrificated to the level that pad thai tasted like bland funny looking pasta. We all know why they cooked this flawless thai visit card this way, but anyway, you should know that this place does not represent Thai food - food just looks like something different but feels the way you use to as a family-friendly not to spicy bland and corporate etc. View from dining area just fine. Nothing special, but it’s one of the closest place to Kata Noi beach (but not the only one). It’s a family-friendly restaurant with hotel guests. Which means no romantic atmosphere in one square mile from this place. Quite pricey I would say. Not good...
Read moreThe lunch experience at Fishermen's Wharf, as captured in these images, appears nothing short of delightful. Here's a review based on the uploaded pictures:
The presentation of the dishes is both inviting and sophisticated. The steak ( we ordered medium rare ) and potatoes are beautifully plated, with the vibrant arugula and shaved cheese adding a fresh touch. The meat's succulent appearance and perfectly cooked texture make it a standout, while the golden-brown potato wedges add a comforting, hearty element to the dish. We ended up order another portion because it was so nice.
The beverages, including a frosty white coconut shakes concoction and a refreshing strawberry drink, complement the tropical ambiance overseas the beach. The buttered bread basket alongside these drinks adds a touch of rustic charm, perfectly blending casual dining with refined flavors.
Lastly, the seafood fried rice dish with its sunny-side-up egg is a comforting classic. The addition of fresh cucumber, tomato slices, and lime enhances the flavors and provides a balance to the rich and aromatic rice. The plating is both neat and vibrant, showcasing...
Read moreWe intended to eat here, however when we did it was closed and food was being served room the Chom Talay restaurant in the primary building. Chom Talay doesn't show on the map, which is why my review shows for Fisherman's Wharf. Same same maybe? Now that's sorted... My rating is the food was 5 star, staff maybe 4.5. The reason for this is when we arrived they seated us at the back, shaded from the sea breeze and with no view, even though there were many seats available. So I asked to move table's, which they accommodated, with one further attempt at seemingly giving us the worst of the available table's (maybe a misunderstanding). I pointed to an empty table, closest to the beach, and they accommodated us and moved everything over. The food was great. We ordered tiger prawns, chicken satay skewers and fried rice with shrimp. The fried rice was the best I've ever had from a restaurant, EVER. Tiger prawns were great too and the satay was very good. Definitely recommend eating here (if you're not in a rush), and while we had lunch we will return for dinner. Great spot, great view,...
