Kata Noi Resort — Hotel in Karon

We chose this property as it is situated really conveniently to the Katathani Beach Resort where we were attending a wedding. The entrance to the property is immediately opposite the main entrance of the Katathani Beach Resort so it could not be more straight forward. As Kata Noi beach is a public beach and not owned by the hotel, you can easily visit the beach with access via Katathani Beach Resort. And it is a stunning stretch of beach. The sea is lovely, although during our stay it had some larger waves close to the beach so you need to have a good footing. That said, a really good place for swimming once you are further out. ||There are a variety of restaurants and a few bars along the main road, which offer good value. You can visit the bars at Katathani Resort too if you prefer a beach front location, but these are quite a bit more expensive! There are also plenty of massage parlours who offer pedicures and manicures. Siam Smile restaurant and bar on the corner of Kata Noi Resort offers take away pizza if you arrive late, but order before 10pm! ||It's a quiet area so there was no problem getting a table for breakfast, lunch or dinner at the restaurants. There are ATMs and 7/11 grocery shops for the essentials. Plenty of taxis and tuktuks due to the Katathani Beach Resort being such a large property with many guests to'ing and fro'ing.||We were really pleased with the room we booked. We had a balcony which was a good size. Whilst it overlooked the car park we did not mind as we were not in the room for much of the time. We didn't book for the view from our room. The double room has a reasonable bathroom, with glass sliding doors for access and a curtain for privacy. This was the only feature of the room we found slightly odd! The bed was comfortable and the a/c was good too. The room is clean and housekeeping visited each day. ||There was plenty of room for hanging clothes and storing luggage. There is complimentary wifi and also complimentary bottled water. ||The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property has a nice atmosphere as it is a small place. ||We were on the 3rd floor. The property does not have a lift so this means carrying luggage up several flights of stairs. Not great if you have over packed for a wedding! But a good work out! The staff did offer to help which was very kind. ||There is a small pool at the property which we didn't use but looked great for families with small children. There were a couple of sun loungers. ||This is a great place to stay, offering fantastic value for money and good service. It's a small property unlike the huge Katathani Beach Resort. This place is great for what it is. Cheap/affordable accommodation that allows you access to the somewhat private and small beach of Kata Noi.You actually have special access to the beach via Katathani Phuket Beach Resort. Service is wonderful. It is lovated 100m up a small road from the main road and so you do not get beach views from any of the apartments. ||They waited for me to arrive (around 8.30pm) and the staff was still there til about 11pm. All issues I had on arrival (e.g. how to work the safe & faulty TV remote) were swiftly attended to to ensure that I was a happy client. ||Flat screen TV with wide selection of channels in English, Thai, Russian, Mandarin and I believe Spanish. Channels show lifestyle shows, news and movies. The 1 bedroom apartment is huge and serviced by a queen sized bed. Bar fridge is available together with effective air conditioning unit, which is very necessary in Phuket. ||The bathroom (toilet, spacious sink and huge shower) are separate and can be closed off via sliding door. Bedside lamps also in working condition and spacious balcony with a clothes hanging line.||There's a mini mart on the street, and a 7-11 200m down, a fantastic restaurant also at the main street and several others towards the 7-11. I would say definitely stay here and still get the benefits of the beach and you can always try out the local cuisine at any one of the restaurants along the main road instead of staying at Katathani Beach Resort. ||The staff are also accommodating with regards to housekeeping. Budget hotel seconds from the beach with big immaculately clean rooms. If you want a resort to lounge by the pool all day then this is NOT for you - the pool, whilst clean is tiny and overlooks a car park. Ok for a dip but not to lounge by all day. Kata Noi resort is great value compared to other hotels in this lower price bracket for the Kata/Karon area. Kata Noi is relatively small and a bit pricier than other areas but super chilled. If you are happy to hit the beach and want something away from the Patong madness then this is ideal for the price in terms of location, cleanliness, comfort and great wifi. I had friends staying at the Katathani resort across the road (which is lovely) and it was a last minute decision to join them in Thailand, by the time I was booking prices were higher there than I wanted to spend for a quick 8 day get away. This definitely suited my purposes, it is a no frills comfortable and clean place to stay, daily maid service and you can pay half day rate for 6pm check out which suited my flight times. Close to massages and mini market, 10 minute walk to Kata if you want more shops and restaurants.
