29.4.24 - Popped by for a quick lunch here today and found the place to be very welcoming and comfortable. Wait staff were very hospitable and always made an effort to check in to see how our meal was going. We ordered the: The ultimate coconut flower drink: it was refreshing and sweet (definitely tasted some sort of syrup used to achieve this). The fresh coconut flesh was yummy. Club sandwich: quite a large serving and plenty to share. The truffle aioli was creamy and indeed truffle-like and not subtle in any way. Chips and salad were standard. Pan-seared chicken breast: another very decent size portion. Unfortunately, it tasted like the chicken breast was cooked in salt water as it was very salty on it's own with no extra sauce added. The garden salad and potato salad helped to balance out some of the saltiness of the chicken. Strawberry and coconut ice-cream: we were mistakenly given the white coffee flavoured ice-cream instead of the coconut. However, it was yummy so there was no need to exchange it. The strawberry flavoured ice-cream was quite fragrant and had berry seeds in it which added a tasty texture burst. Catalan cream: supposedly a spanish version of a creme brulee. Tasted very similar to the usual creme brulee and nothing too out of the ordinary. The burnt sugar crust at the top and the egg custard inside was inconsistent so certain parts of the dessert was more pleasant than others to eat. We asked to have a look at their dinner menu and that seemed to offer more variety, so we'll definitely be back to check out how those dishes taste. Overall, a clean place to dine at filled with friendly faces all around.
30.4.24 - Came back the following night to try out their dinner menu and this time around Chanadda did not disappoint. We ordered from the 3-course set menu and each and every dish selected was delicious. We ordered the following for: Entree = Tom Kha Gai (galenga flavoured coconut milk soup with chicken) Tom Yam Ghoong (flavoured spicy soup with white prawn and lemon grass)
Main = Massaman Nua (beef curry with sweet potato) Gai Phad Med Mamuang (stir fried chicken with cashew nuts and spring onion)
Dessert = Golden fried banana fritters Khao Neow Mamuang (mango sticky rice)
Verdict = an awesome dining experience which left us reeling from a food coma as a result of delicious dishes all round! We will...
Read moreI had very high expectations of this place but was really disappointed- especially compared to experience at Fisherman’s wharf. Firstly, there was almost an hours wait between appetiser and main meal. The chicken parcels were ok but the Mee Krob Kratong Thong (prawn in pastry cup) was a joke. It looked like 1 prawn had been split across 4 cups. When our main arrived the portion was tiny and the chicken and beef over cooked. I’m a forgiving guy when it comes to service but in a high end establishment I’d expect a bit...
