Space: This branch is a little cramped but, there are several spaces divided all throughout the house-cum-restaurant. The main dining, once you enter is the most spacious but seats may be too close to each other. There are also private rooms after passing by a narrow short corridor, and outdoor seating with a few tables.
Food: Food is great and cooked deliciously. The serving is just enough but not exactly overwhelming. Could be shared by 2-3 small asians with per dish. Haha menu is also vast with vegetarian options
Price: Not the cheapest but still affordable esp for groups. Vegetable dishes could cost average of 220baht. Shrimp and crabs could cost anywhere around ~800baht.
Service: The staff are very attentive. (*not sure if because we have local friends who are regular customers) They even provide “allergy caps” or antihistamines in case you turn out allergic to anything you already ate. They can also ‘tweak’ the recipe a bit, in our case, the curry changed to a specific regional curry — don’t exactly know what happened hahaha they were speaking in Thai, my friends and the staff.
Location: Sits on the peripheries of the very busy street of Thonglor. It’s a short hike from the BTS station but after eating, you can go anywhere nearby since it’s surrounded by several bars, dessert shops,...
Read moreTried out this restaurant which specialises in southern thai cuisine. And just a heads up, southern thai cuisine is spicier compare to dishes from the other dishes. But fret not, the restaurant can adjust the spicy level according to our preference. Got the Khua Kling Gai which is made with minced chicken. The khua kling is nicely done with the right level of spicy, and got balance out with the raw vegetables served with it. Also got the stir fry Bai Liang with egg which is another popular dish from the south. The bai liang leaf is so fresh and goes perfectly with the scrambled egg. Got the Tom Yum Nam Sai which is a clear broth tom yum. It has plenty of inclusions like prawns and mushrooms. It is spicy yet so refreshing. Also got the Fried Gurami with Turmeric which happened to be a favorite of mine. The gurami is sliced into bite size and lightly seasoned. It goes well with the garlic chips topping. Service is very quick. For dinner time, it’s always better to make booking as it can get...
Read moreKhuaKlingPakSod, an ex-Michelin guide restaurant known for Southern Thai cuisine, left me with mixed impressions. While I sampled their signature dish, the Khua Kling Moo Sab (Spicy Stir-fried Minced Pork), it turned out to be underwhelming. The overpowering chili overshadowed any other flavors, and the aftermath on my digestive system was less than pleasant.
On a brighter note, their Pomfret was a highlight. Fresh and skillfully fried to a point where even the bones became crispy enough to consume, it was a culinary success. However, the steep price of nearly 2000 THB was a setback. The flavours of the Pad Thai was a tad bit too heavy for me and I would prefer it to be less sweet and salty.
The dining experience could use improvement, both in terms of service and temperature as the restaurant's cold atmosphere was quite discomforting. This restaurant was probably the biggest letdown of my trip to Bangkok and I will recommend visiting other eateries over...
