The restaurant is very nicely decorated and occupies a prime spot in Emquartierâs Helix Dining. It seems pretty popular, in part I suspect, because of its inclusion in the Michelin Guide.
There was a point in the meal where I thought I was going to give this place a rare 5 star review. Sadly, it wasnât to be. Despite the luxurious setting and high price, the staff were not at all friendly. They were efficient enough and not rude, but I didnât see a single person smile while I was there. Of course, waiters are human too and can have a bad day like the rest of usâĶ but the whole staff? No one looked like they wanted to be thereâĶ or wanted you to be there. Bizarre.
Anyway, on to the foodâĶ
The shrimp cakes were delicious - perfectly cooked and tender. Good flavour with or without the dipping sauce. And a good portion for an appetiser.
The noodles were also delicious. Not the fanciest looking dish on the menu, but tasty. The noodles had a great texture with a slight charred flavour from the frying (I presume). The meat was lovely and tender and the vegetables were cooked just right with still a bit of bite. The flavoursome sauce brought everything together.
At this point in the meal, despite the somewhat subpar service, I thought we were on for a 5 star review as the dessert I ordered is incredibly popular and recommended specifically in the Michelin review of this restaurantâĶ
This may be controversial to say, but the Pang Cha was a little disappointing. First thing I should say - and you see this in a lot of other reviews - is that it is huge. I have quite a sweet tooth but didnât stand a chance against this behemoth of a dessert. Iâm pretty sure itâs meant for sharing, but I wanted to try it even though I was dining alone on this occasion. Iâd recommend sharing between at least three, maybe four people (if you love it you can always order another). When it arrived, it looked quite impressive and the dry ice under the bowl added a nice little touch of theatre for their signature dessert. SoâĶ how did it eat? Well on the plus side: the thai milk tea flavour was nice and strong; the shaved ice itself was nicely prepared; there was plenty of texture provided by the various bubbles (the small ones were unexpectedly crunchy), almond flakes, and bread; and it was a really good level of sweetness, not over the top. My main issue with the dessert was that it was all just a bit samey. The first few bites were nice, but thenâĶ I kind of lost interest. Even if I had shared it with three other people, I think I wouldâve gotten boredâĶ and I do love a shaved ice dessert. My other issue was the bread - I just didnât get what it was doing there. Iâm not sure if itâs a traditional Thai thing or not, but soggy bread seemed really out of place hereâĶ and Iâm a British person who has on occasion enjoyed bread and butter pudding. Overall, not a bad dessert, but massively overrated in my opinion - and expensive for what it is. Iâve had many better desserts, even better shaved ice desserts.
Overall, a good eating experience. If youâve got the money to spend, or fancy treating yourself, I would recommend this restaurant. Just go in expecting the staff to be cold at best and order yourself a...
   Read moreDear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent experience at your restaurant, Lukkaitong, located in Bangkok Siam icon. I arrived at your establishment with high expectations, primarily due to the positive media coverage and the prestigious Michelin star rating. However, my visit turned out to be a complete disappointment, as the reality did not match the hype, and the food quality fell far below my expectations.
Despite spending 3000 THB on my meal, which included ordering the curry crab dish that came highly recommended, I found it to be utterly disappointing. Not only was the price exorbitantly high, but the quality of the food was shockingly poor. It pains me to say that the curry crab was far from enjoyable, and I regret spending such a significant amount of money on a dish that did not meet even the most basic standards.
Furthermore, the noodle dish that I ordered, which supposedly won an award, was merely average at best. I could not help but feel that the accolades it received were undeserved, as it failed to impress me in any meaningful way. Additionally, the prices of the vegetables on your menu were unreasonably steep, leaving me with the impression that your establishment prioritizes profit over providing a fair and satisfying dining experience.
Given the extent of my disappointment, I feel compelled to share my negative experience with others. I intend to inform my friends, acquaintances, and fellow diners in both Hong Kong and China about the poor quality of food and the deceptive nature of your restaurant. I will make use of various platforms, including YouTube, Weibo, and influential restaurant review websites in China, such as Red Book, to relay my experience and discourage others from visiting your establishment. I sincerely hope that my feedback will prompt your restaurant to reevaluate its practices and strive for genuine excellence. It is my belief that, as a reputed establishment, you have a responsibility to uphold the trust and expectations of your patrons. I trust that you will take my complaint seriously and address the...

I think itâs a bit pricey, comparing everything to other restaurants. You can get same quality with lower price at other restaurants around. All I have ordered, the bill was around 4,000āļŋ.
The belly-jelly pork I ordered , itâs only 3 pieces of it. (I hope they were not count the number of customers. ) Chicken is only 2 drumsticks and the taste of food was not wow as the price. So-so to me. Itâs quite disappointed.
Personally , that interior design looks messy, non-hygienic , and irrelevant design at all. They even put Sophie the giraffe on the shelf. Itâs like they took it from niece or nephew. Unbelievable. I feel like they manage by stingy grandma. Old-fashioned and obsolete management. Absolutely not going back here. Luxury design and brand image should have positive relationship with the food quality too. Customersâ expectation would be high price , high quality. At this price and quality , itâs not compatible. Sorry to say but Iâm sure there are many restaurants that they can do better.
Btw, I have other choices, and even...
