I thought the other reviewers who talked about standards that dropped were taking it way too far, but I'm afraid I'd have to agree. Coming at around 2 p.m. on a Monday with the intention to avoid the lunch crowd, I was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was not even half filled. Filled with nostalgia, I asked for the same 4-seater table near the entrance, which was where I sat 3 years ago with a friend to celebrate our anniversary. Despite its being unoccupied, I was told that it was for 4 pax, and since we were only 2, we were denied seating there. Instead, we were directed to a tight 2-seater with other customers beside us. The restaurant was still half filled throughout our meal, and by the end of our meal of 1 hour, the table I requested for, along with two other 4-seater tables was still unoccupied. What's worse, a mother with a young boy came in close to 30 min into our meal, but was given a 4-seater, no questions asked. Service was rushed, yet the table next to mine got all their food first even though they came later than us, and even when we ordered the same dish (Wagyu beef). When my drink was delivered to the table, the waitress stepped on my foot as she stood in between the tight tables to serve us. When the change for my bill came, before I could reach out to check the change, the waiter stretched across my face to remove the chili flakes and oregano bottle.
Food standards have also dropped. The bread was hard and cold. The pizza underwhelming, and the Wagyu beef was nothing to shout about, despite the price point.
You're better off taking your business elsewhere where it's cheaper, but with better food and more...
Read moreInferior in every way to the Siam Paragon branch. I feel badly for the staff at this location -- the inferior performance in this restaurant comes down to management -- or better described as "management theater". This manager did a fine job of looking the part of a manager but did nothing to resolve the issues we experienced or witnessed; poor service, missed items in orders, staff in groups on phones not seeming to work, other staff trying to fix other issues that weren't in their area to fix, and a kitchen staff most of whom were standing doing nothing or joking around. Management theater - the act of seeming to be a manager -- when you are not. We'll stick to the superior Siam Paragon branch and never return to this space. Get a new manager, the staff deserves better leadership.
Two days after this review a manager responded to this review and offered an invitation to return "to Victoria". I have no idea what this means at all - but I'm guessing this is a copy/paste reply. Will I return? Nope. Never.
-- update 21 July 2023 - It Gets Worse -- Copy and Paste response from their manager was confirmed, they replied with a template from another restaurant instead of addressing the issues I raised. A few days later they went back and removed "The Victoria" with the correct restaurant name "Mozza" The management appears not to care about this situation that I am sure goes beyond my experience.
Would you go back to a restaurant with bad service, poor food and bad management? Nope. Especially not when there's a copy of them not far away that is superior...
Read moreMy recent visit to Mozza left much to be desired. Although we were a party of two and expected a smaller table, the one we were given was tiny and uncomfortable, especially once our food arrived. The table quickly became overcrowded, and despite the restaurant being almost empty, the staff did not offer us a larger table, making our dining experience quite cramped.
The meal started with bread that was unfortunately dry and hard. We ordered the Lamb Shank and Truffle Pizza, both of which tasted good. However, our enjoyment was marred by serious hygiene issues. I found a hair in the lamb, and shortly after, my boyfriend found another hair in the pizza. We initially tried to overlook it to avoid making a scene, but it was a significant disappointment.
One of the staff members, Dee, added to the discomfort by repeatedly staring at me. When I confronted her with a stare, she laughed and apologized, saying she was zoning out. This unprofessional behavior further detracted from our experience.
On a positive note, the staff member named Banana was attentive and friendly, which was a small consolation amidst the other issues we faced. However, when we requested our receipt after paying, it took an unreasonably long time to get it, as the staff seemed to ignore our request.
Overall, while the food at Mozza tasted good, the poor hygiene and unprofessional staff overshadowed the experience. I hope you address these issues promptly to improve the dining experience for future guests. Btw, I do not want any reply for my review if it's gonna be a...
