I usually never leave negative reviews, but our experience at Rhodes Bangkok was unacceptable. We had booked a table and paid a deposit, yet when we arrived we were refused entry because of a 20+ age restriction. This rule was never mentioned during the booking process and was not clearly stated anywhere on the website or Instagram. We actually live in Bangkok and are used to going out in the city, we have been to many bars here without ever facing such an issue. This came as a complete surprise.

The most unacceptable part is that at the door we were clearly promised that our deposit would be refunded. Later, the restaurant refused, hiding behind their “small amount policy.” This is dishonest and misleading : if you cannot process a refund, you should not promise one. On top of that, since we were not allowed to enter the venue at all, it was clearly not our choice not to consume, it was theirs

I had a disappointing experience with the staff. I had a reservation, and when we arrived, we were seated at the bar by one staff member. Later, another staff member approached us and told us that our booking was not at the bar. There was no polite explanation or apology, and we were made to feel as if it was our fault for sitting in the wrong place—even though we were brought there by the staff in the first place. I could see how she was polite and courteous to other customers, but unfortunately, we did not receive the same treatment. The way she spoke to us didn’t match the level of service we expected, especially considering the service charge. I hope the management addresses this and ensures more consistent and professional behavior from all staff members.
