Dining at Pizza Massilia's food truck in Thong Lo was an experience that blended delightful moments with a slight hiccup. The signature pizza, adorned with fresh Buratta and Culatello Ham, promised a culinary journey for the taste buds. Priced at 790 baht, it held the allure of indulgence.
The ambiance, set against the backdrop of Thong Lo, contributed to a relaxed and enjoyable dining atmosphere. However, the standout feature was the humble and attentive service person who ensured our needs were met with sincerity. Despite being the sole patrons in the venue, the service added a personal touch, enhancing the overall dining experience.
The star of the show, the signature pizza, revealed a mix of triumphs and shortcomings. The Buratta and sauce exhibited commendable flavors, delivering the promised satisfaction. However, the Culatello Ham, an integral component of the dish, fell short of expectations. A discernible off smell hinted at ham that may have surpassed its prime, diminishing the overall enjoyment of the pizza.
The disappointment with the ham, unfortunately, impacted the overall impression of the culinary experience. The contrast between the excellence of the Buratta and the subpar quality of the ham created a noticeable imbalance in the dish.
Complementing our meal were beers that added a refreshing touch to the dining experience. Despite the culinary hiccup, the combination of the service, ambiance, and the positive aspects of the pizza demonstrated the potential for an exceptional experience at Pizza Massilia.
In conclusion, Pizza Massilia in Thong Lo, with its food truck allure, offers a pleasing ambiance and commendable service. While the signature pizza showcases moments of brilliance with its Buratta and sauce, the quality of the Culatello Ham requires attention. The establishment has the potential to deliver a stellar dining experience with a few adjustments, and I look forward to revisiting to explore improvements in the...
Read moreI've driven by it a hundred times, finally decided to stop in for lunch. It's a nice place, big, open, nice cushioned chairs. Really pretty, and has a wicked, gold flaked looking oven!! The food was good. It's kinda like Hiso Designer pizza in my opinion. I'm American, I like a different kind of pizza, probably cheap crappy pizza, 😂. I had the burrata pizza, not knowing what burrata was, what can I say, I'm an idiot!! It was a beautiful looking pizza, I have to give em that. The dough was awesome, I thought. Chewy and good. The ham was good and the burrata, I had never had it before but was good and interesting for me. Tried the buffalina pizza and thought it was good. Hell, the kiddie pizza was good too!!! 😂. We ate a rocket salad with sausage that was tasty. Tried the eggplant parmesean and have to say, it was probably the best I've had! The house wine, I say house the only had two by the glass was good enough I had a second, at lunch! The management was definitely on point. Made a few stops by to check on us, as did the head chef. I had a chance to chat with him outside, nice guy from Italy. Staff was warm and kind. Manager tossed us a dessert and some ice cream on the house, I'm sure because we dropped 4,400 baht on lunch, but hey that's what I would expect, and he came through like a champ!! And I'll tell you one thing, that will keep me coming back to try the calzone!! Tiramisu was a different style than I've seen before and was good. The I'm guessing homemade whip cream was delicious as was the ice cream that came in it. Overall, I thought it was pretty damn good for an upscale pizza joint. Would recommend it to anyone in the area.
We both are big fans of Massilia but this was the first time we tried pizza at the truck branch (We usually went to Ruamrudee branch) Pizzas tasted delicious as same as pizzas we had at the restaurant. We love all pizzas at Massilia and good quality. Worth the price. Only the cutlery or tables weren’t comfortable as eating at the restaurant. But we didn’t mind about that at all. We understand it’s like food truck style. Only one thing we noticed and we didn’t like it here was the pizza peels on the floor. We were watching the staff making pizzas for a while and she put it on the floor with nothing cover the floor. And all staffs walked around with shoes. I saw hangers on the wall but she didn’t hang them there guess it’s convenient for her. At least she should have had a box or something to put it on the floor so she could drop the pizza peels without touching the floor then touching the pizza dough. The service here wasn’t as nice as Ruamrudee. It’s totally different. We’d rather go...
