Peace 和 Oriental Teahouse is a gem nestled in a prime central location, offering a serene and unique experience that feels like a slice of tranquility in the city. From the moment you step in, the minimalist decor and calm ambiance set the tone for an exceptional tea experience.
I tried the Matcha Pistachio latte, and let me tell you—it was hands down the best matcha I’ve ever had. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with the earthy richness of matcha complemented by the subtle nuttiness of pistachio. Every sip felt like a luxurious treat. While the price is undeniably on the higher end, the quality and taste completely justify the splurge. It’s a premium experience for sure, but one I would indulge in again.
The menu offers a variety of teas, each thoughtfully curated and beautifully presented. Beyond the drinks, the teahouse itself is immaculate, with clean wooden interiors and a shoe-free policy that adds an extra layer of comfort and cultural respect. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, savor the moment, and truly enjoy the art of tea.
If you’re a tea lover or simply looking for a unique spot to unwind, Peace 和 Oriental Teahouse is well worth the visit. Just be prepared for the premium pricing—it’s a place where you’re paying for an experience as much as the product, and in my opinion, it delivers.
5/5 for taste, ambiance,...
Read moreI really loved this place 2 years back when I first visited. Back then I had the pure matcha tea which tasted great. The ambience then was amazing as well.
After paying them another visit recently, I was left disappointed with the ambience and the tea. Firstly one of the aircond wasn't working so the place felt very warm under the heat of the sun.
Secondly there was a very noisy customer and none of the staff bothered to quiet him down as he was clearly a disturbance to everyone.
Lastly the way they served the single hot tea set was a shocker as they serve the tea leaves stuck under a small glass cup. The tea was already over-steeped when it arrived as the temperature of the water felt like it was above 80°C -- higher than is recommended for sencha. Also they advised to constantly refill the glass with hot water when I'm almost done, meaning I'll be drinking more and more of the over-steeped, bitter-tasting sencha.
For a place called "peace" I certainly didn't feel much peace, and for a place specialising in tea it was disappointing to experiencing the way they served a simple cup of hot tea.
The matcha ice cream was great so added one...
Read moreDrinks are good, and this used to be my favorite places to go to, since a few years ago. I came here for the quality of the drinks but mostly for the ambiance. I went recently and the place was really cold, with the ACs blasting cold air that made it uncomfortable to sit anywhere. One of the staff ladies pressed a few buttons unsuccessfully, which didn't change anything, and then proceeded to ignore me. The nice hardwood floors seem damaged now and have patches of tape everywhere. The only place that seems to have some protection from the AC blasts has a sign saying "do not sit here". Staff seems oblivious to the AC issue and to the customers, keeping narrowly busy with whatever's in front of them and ignoring everything else - they remind me of horses with...
