Staying on Soi 49, this really is a walkable distance to go and check out Sit and Wonder. Nearest Station is Thong Lo BTS Skytrain It does stand out from its neighbours with its brown modern exterior and may look closed from the outside but its only because they have air con inside. At first glance at the lunch menu we saw that we could dine for as little as 59-79THB each if you wanted. Which we was pleasantly surprised to see. If you want to order other dishes they are priced from 65-150 per dish. Plus or minus a drink you can leave with a full belly from 59-100THB!
I've included photos of the menu and our dishes to help you decide....I'm not sure if there is an extended menu for dinner as we dined at 1.30pm on a thursday afternoon
I went for the fresh Coconut water because when I asked the waitress whether or not they use tap water for the Bael Drink, she didn't understand, but later when asked she said no to using water from bottle. Good to know if you are avoiding tap water, we asked for no ice for the apple soda just incase.
We ordered:
Chicken wings with Papaya Salad to share
Beef and with flat noodle black sweet sauce
Tom Kha Kai Soup
The chicken wings (all wings not drumsticks) were pretty good, they had a light crispiness to them and you can tell they were cooked fresh and not just reheated, the Papaya salad was fresh and well presented, the dressing not as sharp as the ones you get on the street vendors, though the freshness and presentation made us excited to eat it.
The flat noodles and beef were nice, didn't stand out as a Thai dish, nothing outstanding though definitely tasty enough to leave the plate clean :)
The Tom Kha Kai soup was nice, came ready to eat, as in not too hot just perfect. Again slightly lacking edginess to the sour/spicy that makes up the trademark of this soup and I found it to have more mild spicy coconut flavours. However the soup was still tasty, and I guess because I have experienced the wonderfulness of Tom Kha Kai when the sour and spicy and coconut is perfectly balanced.. its hard to give this one full merits today. You wont be disappointed with the generous amounts of chicken, shallots and mushrooms, although you will have to sift through the Kaffir lime leaves, galangal and Lemongrass to get to them.
The Fresh coconut was really sweetly presented, and came surprisngly really chilled making the coconut water a tad bit too cold to drink at first. The coconut inside was still soft and fresh and well priced when compared to restaurant prices. A glance around, all customers were all foreigners, which gave the place a kind of chilled hipster feel, and the staff were polite, though definitely not as smiley and attentive as we have experienced at many other eateries. Our bill came to 439THB (£9.70) for 2 ppl including drinks pretty good. All in all, if you would like good Thai food and on the day you want the comforts of air conditioning and not have to pay more than 40THB/dish than you would when eating at street vendors then definitely take the 15 minute walk, as the flavours and spices are well balanced for all to...
Read moreLoved the chilled out settings and decor of the establishment just to begin with. Service was phenomenal, staff were a pleasure to deal with.
Now we get to the food, ate a lot of things on the menu from green curry (really flavourful), papaya salad, pork salad (it was not the best), chicken wings, pad Thai ( really tasty), black pepper ribs (which were the highlight, do recommend) & desserts from fried ice cream, fried banana (this was average) & mango sticky rice ( lovely).
I found that for the price and quality, the food was definitely well worth it. Which was highly complimented when coupled with the service, experience and whole setting. It was probably the best food and second best setting where I had ate in Bangkok although I was only here for 4 days. But sit & wonder definitely left an impression, with very authentic and flavourful food. Shame I only found it on the last day of my stay.
Next time I am back I will definitely pop back😁 Thanks for a lovely meal and...

This place gained even more popularity after appearing in a Bangkok vlog by Hyeri, a well-known Korean celebrity and actress. And honestly, I’m the type who has to check out hyped spots like this ^.~
It’s on the 2nd floor of a small building, and you really need to pay attention to find it. Funny thing — I walked past this alley just last week and had no idea Sit and Wonder was here!
Today, I came with one goal: Pad Thai. No browsing, ordered it in 0.1 seconds. You can choose from pork, beef, shrimp, or squid — I went with shrimp 🍤
But… umm… sadly, this was one of the least tasty Pad Thais I’ve had in Bangkok. I know reviews are super divided, and now I get why. For me, it was a 1 out of 5 👎 Still cleaned my plate (lol) — it’s not inedible, just… underwhelming in thailand, the land of amazing Pad Thai. if you’re in Bangkok for just a few days, I’d say there are better...
