Don’t go. It’s not clean. There was a cockroach under our table. I pointed it to one of the ladies. She literally grabbed a piece of napkin and picked it up with her hands. And went back to work. Didn’t wash her hands nothing.
When it comes to the taste and pricing, this place is really overrated. Went there today and for everything on the menu it was “120-150 baht” We ordered the oyster omelette and seafood pad Thai. There’s nothing special about the food and not worth the price. Also we asked for water, the lady gave us 1 coke. (Apparently, it’s a thing they do especially if you don’t speak thai. So that you’re forced to pay for the drink you didn’t even ask for.)
At the end, we paid 317 baht for oyster omelette, seafood pad Thai, and the coke. When we were leaving, I asked if I could take the mineral water with me as I only drank half of it — assuming it was free because every table had 3 bottles ready when you come in. It also didn’t make sense for them to serve it to the next customer and I didn’t want to waste it so I asked if I could take it. Also, I wasn’t sure if they recycled the bottles, so I thought it’d be better to ask. But I regret asking... As the lady said “10 baht” I said we already paid for everything. She insisted 10 baht. So we had to pay 10 baht for that water... on top of 317 baht. It just didn’t sound correct. There’s just no way it’s not included in the 317 that we had to pay. So in total, it was 327 baht which is way too pricey.
It’s a rip off to be honest. There’s nothing special about the food and they scam you into getting coke so you have to pay extra. Also, at 7/11 that same water is 2 bottles for 10 baht. And 7/11 is always more expensive. I wouldn’t come back here. And I don’t...
Read moreHoi-Tod (Thai style crispy fried oysters pancake) is pretty good here, I have never tried pad thai thought. The pancake is crispy and crunchy on the outside, in contrast, the omelette in the middle is soft and fluffy and the oysters are fresh and juicy, which resulted in a very good combination of texture. In my opinion this dish will go best with the Sriracha sauce (the Thai style chili sauce).
There are varieties of option for you if you do not have appetite for oysters; mussels, squid, crab stick, et cetera. You can also choose the texture of pancake too, all crispy, crispy with fluffy middle part or fluffy omelette.
The price for the Hoi-Tod dish might seem expensive compared to a normal Hoi-Tod you found out there in the market, with the price range around 120 to 150 baht per serve. But the dish is worth a try if you visit Bangkok and want to try our infamous street food. This particular store is located in the heart of Sukhumvit, Thonglor district. Very convenient if you are traveling by BTS sky train, just hop off at Thonglor station, exit the platform, walk pass the Mae-Waree mango stall (another well known mango sticky rice shop), when you spot a large flat pan with sizzling sound, you have arrived at your...
Read moreNot easy to get such fried Oyster Omelette in Bangkok nowadays. Especially those areas near the tourist shopping streets. Usually you got to take taxi to those narrow small lanes away from main street.
But today found a fantastic oyster omelette food stall near Thong Lor BTS within walking distance. Very recommend their so called "Or-Lua" the great fried Oyster Omelette.
It was crispy, juicy and full of the oyster fragrance and eggs flavour. Remember to order the right one call Or-Lua which have crispy outer ring and soft n gluey in the middle. Adding the crispy pennut and dry chilli-flack and chilli sauce, it was so tasty and delicious, full of flavors.
Will definitely return when I'm back to bangkok again. Highly recommend for oysters lover!
