It’s been about 8 years since I ate here last time! Glad the business still going steadily well.
Huge menu, great lunch sets and a la cart selection. You can eat here many times without getting bored. Lunch time is very short, only 2 hours (11:30am-1:30pm) not convenient for people who live far away from Sukhumvit.
Best way to describe Japanese dishes here: simple, comfort food with very minimal seasoning. Everything I order today tasted delicious but the flavors heavily leaned towards mild side.
Fried creamy shrimp croquettes, perfectly fried but the cream taste quite bland. No macaroni salad on the side, that made me sad.
Peperoncino, once again quite bland but still a strong comfort dish that can be enjoyed any days.
Butter grilled salmon, cooked flawlessly but still bland. Little sprinkles of salt and squeeze of lime boost up the fish’s flavor by miles.
Last but not least, miso soup here is outstanding! Load with ingredients other than tofu and seaweed. They clearly put extra effort into it, much tastier than many other Japanese shops.
Looking forward to try different dishes next time. I wonder which menu will be better than what I ate today!
EDIT: went again last night, trying few more dishes, much better experience than last week!
Napolitan pasta, not easy to find especially authentic version. I can taste smoky ketchup, buttery flavor. Bacon, sausage and bell pepper also great compliments.
Macaroni salad, simple side dish I know but it’s incredibly flavorful. Perfect amount of Japanese mayonnaise and seasoning. So good I had to order one more for to-go.
Ham cheese katsu, another fine snacks which paired perfectly with nama beer.
Dinner this time was highly satisfying, looks like I will have to come back again for dinner next weekend. Many solo diners here but it will be way more fun to come here with friends, sharing different...
Read moreI was so happy to meet kindness staff and greatest Hamburg today. Thanks. The last order for lunch is 1 PM. The price is not too different lunch and dinner. Don’t need to rush for only lunch. Enjoy the greatest Japanese house meals anytime on open hour. Especially, Miso soup is great.
Don't make order Ebifry(fry shrimp). There make fry shrimp by different kinds of shrimp. I never served fry shrimp like this. That shrimp has to be used for soup or grill not for making fry. This shrimp was too wet. I don't know why they made this mistake. Gyoza was not bad but not Crispy and Beef curry only have two small blocks of meat. Edamame was for free when you make an order beer. Just my recommendation is Miso soup and Hamburg steak, beer.
Read moreA very Japanese yoshoku style place. During working day lunch time you need to reserve table in advance or else you might have to wait for a bit since this place is VERY small; 5-6 tables on first floor and approx 25 seats (sit on the floor) on second floor.
You can have lunch set around THB 250-300 per person or in case the set was not to your taste you may choose an a la carte menu about THB 180 with extra rice set THB 90 (miso soup/salad/2sides/pickle)
Either set or a la carte with extra rice both included refill tea + iced coffee after meal
Food portion was large. Japanese rice and miso soup were good. I ordered mapo tofu as main dish which tasted okay, it was filling but not upset my stomach.
Service organizing (serving, order taking) should be developed especially how the staff communicate. They shouting the order all the time and it was kind of ruin...
