Our experience at the Abandoned Mansion speakeasy bar last night was nothing short of spectacular. The ambiance, the performances, and the service all came together to create a truly memorable evening. Special thanks to Ms. Ice, who not only served us with great care but also arranged a prime seat for us that elevated our experience.
Ms. Ice was exceptionally attentive throughout the night, carrying a warm smile that truly highlighted her passion for hospitality. Her dedication to ensuring our comfort and enjoyment was a great testament to her expertise in the industry.
However, it is worth noting that there was a noticeable bias towards Western or Caucasian patrons at the bar. I observed that Asian guests were often tucked away at tables or seats that did not offer a proper view or dining space. Fortunately, I voiced my concern to Ms. Ice, and she promptly addressed my request, securing a table with a nice spot for us. I truly appreciate Ms. Ice's responsiveness and effort in ensuring that all guests are treated fairly and enjoy their experience at the bar.
We were lucky to arrive at the perfect time, in between acts, which allowed us to secure upgraded seats right in front of the stage. Positioned near the stairs leading to the second floor performance area and the entrance to the bar, we found ourselves at the heart of the entire place. The four unique and creatively decorated cocktails we enjoyed, along with a forgettable but tasty wagyu mini burger, made our three-hour stay truly worth it.
The highlight of the night was the talented singer, Ms. Aom, and her band. Special recognition goes to the member who skillfully played the saxophone and altophone, adding a beautiful layer to the music. The performers were playful, engaging, and succeeded in drawing out some incredible singers from the audience to join them on stage. One memorable moment was when a Thai gentleman took the mic and shared his love for the singers' community, delivering a stunning vocal performance that left us in awe.
Overall, our experience at the Abandoned Mansion speakeasy bar was outstanding, thanks to the fantastic entertainment, delicious drinks, and excellent service provided by Ms. Ice. We highly recommend this establishment for a night of jazz, fun, and...

Walking down the staircase into Abandoned Mansion is like walking back in time a hundred years. If you're like me, and romanticize the Roaring 20's, then this is the place for you.
It has the air of true upscale jazz joint. The atmosphere is dim and cozy. The seating is plush and comfortable. The decor is rich with historical photos from the era. And to top it off, the staff even dresses the part, literally, with the hostess and wait staff wearing evening gowns and the men slacks, ties, and vests. And the service is top notch as well. Rose kept my thurst quenched without delay or disturbance.
Then there's the entertainment. Before the live show starts, jazz music from throughout the ages emanate from a quality sound system that appropriately emits a full frequency range with balance and clarity ... against a backdrop of a black and white movie projected on a curtain behind the stage. And the stage, by the way, is on a balcony above the bar, which offers a show of its own, as the bartender works his magic with flare and aplomb.
The drink menu receives equal attention from the overall '20's theme. Signature cocktails represent the Who's Who of Prohibition in the USA, complete with names and biographies of the relevant players. And the presentation doesn't disappoint either. Prepare to have your cocktail served with a suicide door coupe, a gramaphone, or a chest of loot!
As for the drinks themselves, trust me when I say your taste buds will thank you. Quality ingredients measured and mixed to perfection are on call for your imbibing pleasures!
Suffice it to say, this is my new favorite haunt in Sukhumvit. A hidden jem, a short walk from the bustle of Asoke, but a lifetime away from your troubles. Whether you're flying solo or on a date, Abandoned Mansion is a desired destination that...
Read moreWe argued with the manager that we waited for too long for our drinks (30 minutes but we mistakenly said 40) while people arrived much later than us got served before us. She insisted they made us wait only 10 minutes as shown in the system record. The issue here is the attitude and how the manager responded to the client's complaints and feedback. I didn't mind the manager arguing with us clients but we minded her attitude and how she handled the situation. (Do you have an SOPs to respond to this kind of situation?) I guess they need to check their CCTV to verify that we waited at least 30 mins and properly apologize.
She was right that it was only 10 minutes but that was when we followed up with the waitress after 20 minutes of the wait and she keyed in our orders to the system. I followed up with the manager for the second time and finally we got our drinks after waiting 30 minutes in total. Additionally, my Gin Fizz was as thin as water, my friend wasn't impressed with her drink either. Bartender added one more shot to my Gin Fizz (thanks). Nice presentation for a cocktails but the taste and quality didn't match the price.
When paying, the 10% service charge and 7% Vat were added, my second friend commented with he manager that they shouldn't add the 10% service charge for such a long wait, The manager insisted we only wait 10 minutes and we argued as stated above
FYI, we ordered the drinks before the live band sang the last three songs, The live band took a break, we got our drinks when they live band resume to show. Trying to find a common reference to support my argument, I asked the manger the break duration of the band, she said, 10 minutes which wasn't true. What a bad experience. Such a pity as the place...
