I am a professional masseur (and "massage sommelier" writing for a Japanese massage website) and I visit massage shops around Thailand three or four times a week. Even at very bad places, I never walked out or asked for a masseur/masseuse change; but Ayothaya is the first and only place where I walked out after the first of a two hour sessions. I shared a three-table room with a friend and the two masseuses kept talking very loudly for the whole hour, complaining about previous customers, talking how masseurs can get better money in Malaysia or Japan, or about the price of the cake they ate in the weekend (I understand Thai). Their hands would stop when they talked (which means, most of the time), and as they kept looking at each other for the whole session they would often touch the wrong place (my friend was in the table near the wall, and he got his hand smashed three times against it). After thirty minutes, we asked them if they could stop talking and focus on massage. No more than 20 seconds after that request, they started talking again. After one hour, and when my friend got his hand smashed to the wall for the third time, I got irritated and asked them if we paid for a two hour massage or a two hour chatting session. That's when my masseuse said "Finish" and walked away. We reported the situation to the guy at the front desk and he just laughed and went back to his smartphone. Of course, we didn't get our money back, so we paid for a two hour massage, but we had a one hour of loud chatting, with a few minutes of very average massage. I visited hundred of places, and this is by far the worst. Oh, I forgot to write that before the massage they washed my feet in a basin still full with the water and soap of the previous...
Read moreThis location looked like a small massage place and professional (no wavy girls, etc) with fair prices and as I had some spare time and have had hope I could get a massage of at least similar quality like in Koh Tao I went inside.
After choosing the kind of massage I would like I asked if it would be possible to see the masseurs which are trained for this kind of massage and are free now as one needs to feel comfortable with the person to be able to relax and enjoy a massage - this request was not understood so I did use Google translate and it was denied then, so I left - disappointed.
According to the current other reviews here it depends upon the masseur if you like it or not (some people had...
Read moreWe have been traveling in Thailand for almost two weeks, and had quite a bit of dirty clothes we had accumulated. We decided to get some of the clothes laundered, and found this location. We communicated via WhatsApp, and afterwards dropped our clothes off with the front desk of our hotel around 8pm. Shortly after, we got a message of the total due - very reasonable! We dropped off the baht at the hotel lobby.
Next day, we come back to our hotel room to find freshly laundered clothes, nice and neatly folded in a plastic bag.
All said, we got our clothes back in excellent shape in roughly 20 hours!
We will definitely use this business when we inevitably return...
