Barracuda bar & restaurant — Restaurant in Ko Lipe

There are a few issues with this restaurant which is making me contemplate if it should be 1 star or 2 stars.

Cooking style: bad. They don’t know how to grill a grouper fish. They overcooked it and it was the worst we’ve eaten in Thailand. Service: also bad. They don’t offer any accompagnements with the big grilled fish. No salad, no veggies and no fries. Almost al grilled fish we had in Thailand offered us fries. Cost: bad as well. Fish is 500 baht instead of 400 everywhere. Same for fries and fresh juices. Just higher prices but poor quality.

Seemed to be a good restaurant but we left disappointed. fish was totally overcooked - dry and so hard that you could not cut or extract meat from bones!! First time happened and we eat fish all over the world…. (We ate grouper here) prices are definitely too high, juice is 100 inserted of 40/50 everywhere else. Amazing fish, nicely cooked on the charcoal grill. They always have larger fish (they can cut a piece/steak) than other restaurants at more competitive prices. From my experience, the larger fish was tastier than the average red/white snapper. In 2 weeon Ko Lipe I ended having dinner here maybe 7-8 times :) I like that they favour the fish natural taste and don’t add much to it and don’t make it spicy.
