Khrua Phra Nang — Restaurant in Krabi Province

It was quite complicated to get here – we had to walk along the beach since there was no clear entrance, and even the security staff seemed confused about where we were going. Eventually, we made it through what seemed to be a private resort area, but it was not an easy experience.

Once we finally reached the restaurant, the service was actually excellent. The staff gave us a beautiful table with a stunning sea view, served us a special local tea, and even complimentary rice crackers – which was a very nice touch.

The food was good but not perfect. The fried flower dish with jackfruit and coconut sauce was interesting, though the jackfruit itself lacked flavor. I had the cobia fish, which was tasty but disappointing in size – mostly bone and not much meat, although the accompanying mango salad was fantastic and definitely the highlight of the meal.

What really bothered us was the pricing. A bottle of water (750 ml) cost 250 THB – extremely overpriced, especially considering you can get 2 liters at a nearby shop for less than half of that. With service charge and taxes added, the bill for just two main dishes and water came to around 1,800 THB, which is extremely high for Thailand. To compare, we had a meal with three dishes and two shakes elsewhere for just 600 THB.

Overall, amazing view and very good service, but the difficult access and unreasonably high prices really affected...

We spent a week in the area and ate here twice. We loved it both times. It's a high end experience with prices to match, but we felt like it was a nice change from the restaurants on the walking street. The Thai people eat their food all at once, so we ordered all the dishes to arrive at the same time. Our servers commented that "this is the way that we eat". I would suggest that you do that here. I can't praise the breakfast at this resort enough! The food was incredibly tasty, but what truly made it special was the sheer joy of eating breakfast while gazing out at Phra Nang Beach. It was such a happy start to each day. If the heat gets to be too much, the air-conditioned dining area offers a comfortable escape.
