La Medusa Restaurant l Aonang Villa Resort — Restaurant in Krabi Province

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The La Medusa, and overall, it was a lovely experience. The atmosphere stood out to me the most—quiet, peaceful, and perfect for either a relaxed evening out or a calm lunch. It’s a great spot if you're looking to escape the noise and have a conversation without raising your voice.

The service was another strong point. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and fast without being overbearing. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in and were happy to answer questions about the menu and make recommendations.

There’s a decent variety of mocktails on offer, which I appreciated as a non-drinker—creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented. However, I did notice that the vegan and vegetarian options were somewhat limited. While they had a few selections, expanding this part of the menu would definitely make the restaurant more inclusive for plant-based diners.

I ordered the gnocchi, and while I found it a little saltier and chewier than I prefer, the flavors were still excellent. It's a rich and satisfying dish that I would recommend to others, especially if you enjoy bold seasoning.

We discovered this place by chance. We loved the staff, the fish and the seafood. Their bruschetta were also very tasty - we got them on the house when we ordered seafood platter and we were very happy with the taste even if it is simple food. They also went beyond our expectations and prepared for us blue prawn, rock lobster and even oisters. They were cooked to perfection! If you want something from the sea, just ask and they will try to make you happy even if the menu does not include what you asked for. An awful experience. Service was slow, no wine by the glass to try and upsell to very expensive bottles. Of the eight main dishes, only two were delivered to a good standard and in good time. The other six were cold (penangs), late (burger and fries) or not as ordered (pizza with differing toppings). Whilst we were there there were multiple complaints about wrong orders and lack of service. To top it off, there were lots of loud shouts from the kitchen (sounded like a fight had broken out) and then there was a fight amongst drunk guests.
