I ate here twice this week. First time the food was ok. I had curry seafood in a young coconut. The second time I had stir fried noodles in soy with chicken ( Pad see ew) and a papaya salad. The noodles were by far the worst I’ve ever had, I’ve had them many times, soggy mush, and the papaya salad wasn’t great either. Too much lime. Both times the service was lax and unfriendly. Lastly, which has nothing to do with the rest of the review, I accidentally left ฿1000 note instead of ฿100 because I wasn’t wearing my glasses. When I realized it a few minutes later, I went back and explained I had made a mistake, but they had terrible attitudes, denied it and acted as if I was trying to do something underhanded. We waited a while for someone or something that didn’t happen, at which point I told them listen I’m gonna leave now. The money is not important to me, but the experience was very unfortunate and they would have to live with the knowledge that one of them, or both of them are dishonest. In summary, I would avoid this place for a variety of reasons, there are plenty of other places to choose...
Read moreOriginally it was the nice live music which drew us to this place. However after the first dinner here, we came more often. We experienced great service, very tasty food and had a great connection with the kitchen due to some food allergies. Not only did they manage to prepare Thai dishes without certain allergens, they still managed to stay creative, authentic and delicious. I do recommend this place for lunch or dinner! Note that the restaurant is split into two locations, but the kitchen is the same. The location on the side of the musician has a cozy lounge area on the first floor, accessible only without shoes. They provide jenga games to play with and hang out. The other side is more of a traditional restaurant, with regular seating on the first floor, giving a nice view onto the...
Read moreGood food in Railay is somehow hard to find, especially for westerners. So glad i come across this gem. They have all the thai dishes of course but then they have the grilled chicken spinning over charcoal. You can get half or a whole chick, have it with french fries just like home. If you are like me, you can only eat that many thai noodles and curries! Also a must try are the grilled tiger prawns or the grilled squid. All fresh, grilled for you on charcoal. Make sure you ask for Bamboo, the guy with longer hair and mustache. Big character, really funny, he knows his food and can help you with your dinner if some sort of fish or seafood is what you are after. Bamboo and the team at The Corner Railay,...
