We paid tbh1,150 ($33usd) for rare beef sandwich on baguette, khun mushroom, spinach salad with cranberries and honey vinaigrette, and a slice of cheesecake. I noticed reviews stating this place was expensive, but I don’t think it is (maybe because we’re from the U.S shrug). This reminds me of a MUCH better Panara Bread store. I hate to compare it to a chain restaurant, but hopefully this will give you an idea. My husband said this was the best cheesecake he’s ever had!
I love that it’s in a residential area, tucked away under a boutique hotel. We did laundry across the street so this was a great way to eat yummy food while we waited. The staff were kind, polite, and the restaurant was clean. There wasn’t a restroom, so we went to the hotel lobby and that worked out great! There isn’t a lot of seating available (just in case you have a large group).
Is this the same restaurant owner whose place was taken over by terrorists in Bangladesh in 2016? If so, it’s inspirational to see the owners persevere after a tragic event like that. I love supporting small businesses; it’s a huge step to bring...
Read moreUpdate 27 Feb I ordered once again today, and despite me choosing the option in Grab that says "please send cutlery", they still sent NO napkin. It's SUPER ANNOYING, and the reason the restaurant gives for not sending one is ridiculous. Napkins are very biodegradable; in fact, it takes only 2-6 weeks (unlike their yellow plastic tape they wrap around everything). It really comes down to just trying to save 0.5 baht cost on a sandwich they charge 300 baht for.
Original Review 13 Feb Holey used to be something special. These days, they almost always disappoint. I ordered delivery two days in a row this week, as this location is very near my work. Both times, the sandwiches were not well packaged, so even though they didn't travel far, they did not arrive hot and fresh. Also, the staff no longer send napkins with the orders. This is a big deal to me because I eat on the go. For now, I'm kind of stuck, because the only options in this area are Holey and Subway. Hopefully, Bartels will open a branch near here soon, as they are cheaper, more professional, and they always...
Read moreThe pizza was good, but what really stood out for me was the dough. I’m pretty sure they use sourdough for the base, which gives it a unique texture and flavor—not something you often find back home.
My sister ordered the brownies and gingerbread cake. The brownies were tasty with a nice texture, though a bit too sweet for us. The gingerbread had a slightly bitter note—not really my thing. But funnily enough, if you eat both together in one bite, it actually works surprisingly well!
We came in the afternoon and walked from our hotel since it was nearby. The moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a beautiful display of cakes and breads, plus comfortably cool AC. Just avoid sitting too close to the window—the sun can still get pretty intense.
They also offer free drinking water, which is always appreciated.
One of the staff who served me wasn’t very friendly, but maybe they were just having a rough day—nothing major.
Would definitely come back next time I’m in Bangkok. The place has a nice, cozy vibe that’s perfect for opening up your laptop and getting...
