WALK Rooftop Bar — Restaurant in Makkasan Subdistrict

Go elsewhere for a better, more reliable rooftop bar/restaurant.

My husband and I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at Walk sky bar Centara. We made reservations for the rooftop, were told we’d get the best seat with a great view only to find it ‘unexpectedly closed due to rain’ when it wasn’t even close to raining. When I pointed this out the manager then said it was because it was windy and looked like it was going to rain; in my opinion a lame excuse to not have to set up the rooftop patio.

We took a 30 minute cab in traffic to enjoy the evening with a view. It didn’t rain a single drop or even appear like it was going to be bad weather otherwise we would have cancelled. The staff suggested going to the lower floor restaurant which was far from good and has no view due to the tall bushes that prevent anything from being seen. We sat outside where the weather was perfect and the food was 6/10 at best. The truffle pasta had no truffle, simply mushrooms which are not nearly the same. The pizza was underwhelming, needed Tabasco to add any flavour since we were given paprika when we asked for chilli flakes. The food was edible but one of the least satisfying meals we’ve had in 6 months travelling through Thailand.

I wouldn’t recommend coming here especially since there are many other rooftops which likely won’t close when it’s not even close to bad weather. Not to mention we sat outside anyway except with no view from the other disappointing restaurant which has the same menu. The food isn’t good and it was overall a waste of...

Been to all the rooftop bars in Bangkok and I have to say that if you want to relax and chat with company among the skyline, this is the best place. Reversely if you want to take selfies for the 'gram, go elsewhere.

The live acoustic music is very soothing, and at a very reasonable volume so you dont have to yell to talk to the person next to you. Even on Saturday evening there was less than 50% occupancy, so you can grab a prime table.

Best of all the happy hour runs till 8pm and they are super generous with it. Buy one get one free cocktails and the 2nd one doesn't have to be the same one, nor will they bring them both out at the same time.

Definitely coming...

Just had starters and sparkling water. Place was dead, staff didn't seem to be too bothered. When we got our food it tasted like the oil used was old which left it very unappetising and the food was made from frozen it seems. Waiter got his sleeve covered in tartar sauce when serving us. All in all I would not recommend this place for food, might be better for cocktails but I would not return judging...
