Kan's​ haus​ cafe and bistro — Restaurant in Patong

Came into this bistro with high hopes but was left disappointed with the food. Ordered multiple dishes as the menu/pictures looked vibrant and tantalising but overall experience was very average.

Customer service: Waiters and waitresses were generally very nice and helpful BUT the manager (😳) was shockingly rude and impatient when we were browsing the menu (he came to us asking if we were ready to have our orders taken and when we said to give us another couple mins, he rolled his eyes and walked away. My partner was very respectful when saying that so it was truly uncalled for)

Back to the food: (1) American breakfast Did not consume sausage so we requested to change to more scrambled eggs. When the dish was served - it still looked like a single portion of eggs which was disappointing.

(2) Fried shrimps/Truffle fries/Ice latte Shrimps had a strange aftertaste. Truffle fries were ok, your typical fries. Ice latte ok; a regular afternoon fix.

(3) Mushroom soup / chicken carbonara: ‼️ This is the below-average dish — Very, VERY bland. Felt like something that could be easily whipped up at home with pre-made sauces.

Overall experience 3/5 better to come in with low expectations and be wow-ed than to come in with high expectations and be disappointed.

The overall aesthetic of the space is good though, but other than that I wouldn’t visit again.

Stopped by Kan's Hause Coffee & Bistro while exploring the local area - decent little spot if you need a caffeine fix. The iced latte was surprisingly good for a small beach-adjacent shop, and the food selection was fresh enough to warrant a second visit.

BUT the REAL value here isn't listed on their menu - it's their WiFi! Ordered one coffee, and like any responsible customer, asked for the WiFi password. The barista happily wrote down "kan99999" on my receipt without a second thought. Little did they know they'd just given me the keys to the digital kingdom for my ENTIRE STAY!

Turns out their signal reaches all the way to the beach chairs about 200 meters away! For the rest of the week, I enjoyed "free" internet access while lounging on the sand, posting tropical sunset photos that made my daughter Sarah roll her eyes at my "obvious filters" (they were NOT filtered, by the way - that's just what paradise actually looks like!).

Each morning, I'd wave at the staff from the beach, occasionally ordering a to-go coffee to ease my conscience. They probably wondered why I gave them an enthusiastic thumbs-up every time I walked by, but hey - customer appreciation is important!

Food's a solid 3.5/5, but the unintentional week-long WiFi package deserves a full 5 stars for value. Thanks for keeping me...
