Merchant Kitchen — Restaurant in Patong

I called into the Marriott this morning heading to the Merchant Kitchen for breakfast. I actually wanted the Phuket Waldorf salad which unfortunately was not on the breakfast menu. However, the wait staff said they would check with the kitchen and hey presto, they were able to provide me with the salad. Fantastic service! I chose to sit outside with a view towards the pool. The dining area was reasonably busy but there were enough staff on duty to cover the demand. I loved the salad; juicy fresh fruits with a well balanced dressing, and the portion size was very generous. Great breakfast buffet in terms of variety and service level. Made a request for soy milk oatmeal, they made it for me fresh; asked for the mini Strawberry donuts that they switched out at the pastries, they brought out extra. A great variety of savory and sweet dishes with an impressive array of cereals and cheese along with a section for gluten free bread and muffin. Allergen labels at every food name tag. You can get quite creative with the existing food options.

Separately visited for the standard Ala carte, ordered Japanese Salad and Lamb Rogan Josh Set, quantity was generous but food taste was nothing special...

Nina the restaurant manager was super helpful, she really tried to communicate with the chef of our dietary needs. Incredibly hard working, genuinely cares for her customers. An assist to the Marriot group. Deserves a promotion. She organised a birthday dinner which was amazing. The day she had off, we had real difficulty communicating with others.

Keema and JJ were also very professional and helpful.
