OGGI Restaurant — Restaurant in Patong

We were shown to a table. Tried asking in Thai for someone to take our order as well as in English, was ignored told to wait for other waitress. Finally our order is taken by a waitress who didn’t look like she wanted to be there at all. Our food took an hour to arrive one item was missing and every dish was so small we requested 2 additional dishes. The waitress advised they would come within 5 -10 mins. After waiting another 30 mins for the missing dish from original order and additional dishes we requested to a waitress to cancel as it took to long and we needed the bill. 15 mins later we asked another waitress for the bill advising we had already asked . Another 15 mins later 2 of our dishes come to the table without or original missing dish 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I advised no we had cancelled and wanted the bill. She said no you ordered you pay. I said we have asked 2 waitresses now for the bill. She said you have not ….. I pointed to the waitresses that we had asked who were just standing at the back of the restaurant. The waitress holding the food then said you don’t pay I have to pay, I said I would have been happy to pay if we hadn’t waited 2 hours. She yelled at us and advised us not to come back which we honestly didn’t plan too. All staff were hanging out in the inside not really servicing just standing around, they clearly did not want to be there on a New Year’s Day and it looked like they were being forced to be there to be honest. I wished we had left sooner and given up from the beginning. But the kids were hungry and tired. I witnessed 3 tables leave from not being served or lack of service. Don’t go here the staff at other venues are way more friendly and thankful for tourists and the food served in a timely manner and better portion sizing. We do not recommend this place at all. The customer service is poor and the food was quite bland overall, the staff is extremely rude and impolite as well. We ordered noodles with beef but the beef was not fully cooked and smells weird and we also spot a mosquito as we spread the chilli sauce on our plate. We complained to the staff, no supervisor on duty to hear our feedback and they also did not apologise to us. The Satay also tastes quite odd compared to regular ones you can get at other places. We told the junior staff about our feedback but they behaved very rudely & were busy chatting & whispering in Thai language. Many other better places to go in Phuket...

I cannot understand the many bad reviews.

I ate here several times in December/January and today again so more than 3 months later and I never had a bad experience here.

The waitress was quick with me to take the order. And also I received my meal and my Mago Smoothie within a couple of minutes. Yes, the waitress is not super super friendly but definitely far away from being unfriendly.

By the way also the other guest have been served immediately and received their orders very quick.

Maybe when the whole restaurant is full, the small crew and also tiny kitchen might reach their limits but...
