We stayed for 10 days in April ‘22. Overall had a very nice stay.
Pros: *Location - Absolutely in front of the beach and easy access to lots of shops, restaurants and streets in Patong *Friendly staff *Modern building and clean *Spacious room (Junior family suite) *Good pool to swim and lounge in the sun
Cons: *Despite being a new build, some of the fixtures e.g. flush, shower levers etc in the bathroom doesn’t feel new and is wobbly / loose and not aligned with the modern look. *Rooms lack proper storage units to put away clothes etc so all our clothes had to be put on a pile on top of a table. *Still fairly new so the stores in the lobby area not fully established, with most vacant / for rent. Would be better perhaps in a years time when populated
Neutral (not faults of the hotel but FYI for potential stayers): *Partial sea view rooms’ view is actually construction of the building opposite. Not great view at all but should look better in the future when construction is complete. The fact you can see a bit of the beach when you turn your head is good. *The balconies have a stand-alone glass guardrail which may have been perfectly safe but was scary when children are concerned. I didn’t let my child go into the balcony unsupervised and always kept them away from edge.
[IMPORTANT] Information for other travelers using Travel Agents:
I purchased as a flight + hotel combination via Lastminute who in turn used Booking.com who the hotel advertised through. Companies like lastminute etc has their usual payments process to their hotel partners which is at a later stage of the booking and their default payment process is using virtual card. This created significant problem and stress for me.
The hotel rejected my Thailand Pass application as they claimed my booking was not confirmed as they haven’t been paid by LastMinute yet. The hotel doesn’t consider your booking confirmed until they themselves get paid by the travel agent. This is despite me paying for my holiday weeks before. I had to call and escalate this issue at lastminute multiple times for them to expedite payment to the hotel. This was painful. When they offered to pay by their usual payment method (card) that was also not accepted by the hotel as their policy is bank transfer only as they can’t accept payment by third parties (i.e travel agents on behalf of the customer [me]). I then had to call multiple times and escalate again for them to make a bank transfer which then allowed me to get my Thailand Pass approved with just days to go to my holiday. The stress around dealing with this as a holiday maker was very unnecessary. Please be careful if purchasing as a packaged holiday or part of flight + hotel through an agent. Alternative solution is to book with the hotel direct and avoid travel agents.
Feedback for hotel - I appreciate the hotel has its own policy. However if you are going to advertise your rooms with travel agents for your business you need to negotiate the process with them in advance to ensure the customers are not having to get involved in the administration between the tour operator and the hotel like I did. It was not a pleasant experience. Going forward, please ensure your policies mainly around payments etc are clarified with tour operator partners you advertise with and remove the inconvenience for customers. This is the first time I faced these challenges with a hotel when purchasing through a travel agent. Alternatively, don't list your rooms with third parties if you are not going to agree to the payment process and administration in advance as it shouldn’t be up to the customers having to act as middlemen and...
Read moreI am writing to express my deep sadness and disappointment regarding my experience at Anona Beachfront Hotel in Patong Beach. I had booked a 5-night stay through a travel agency in my country. The reservation was for a suite with a Jacuzzi at a hotel classified as 4 stars.
Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, we encountered several issues that significantly impacted our stay. These issues include:
Room cleanliness: The room was not cleaned to an acceptable standard. We had to repeatedly request cleaning and sheet changes, but the response was inadequate.
Jacuzzi condition: The water in the Jacuzzi was dirty and yellow in color, making it completely unusable.
Breakfast options: The breakfast options were not suitable for Muslimsspecialy the arabs, despite this requirement being clearly stated when booking.
Adding to our frustration, I had informed the hotel that this stay was to celebrate our marriage anniversary, and I expected a pleasant and memorable experience. Unfortunately, the poor service and lack of professionalism completely ruined this special occasion for us.
When we raised these concerns with the hotel staff, we proposed several fair solutions, but they were not cooperative:
We suggested moving to a standard room with a refund of the price difference; however, the compensation offered was unreasonably low and unacceptable.
The staff made no genuine effort to address our complaints or resolve the issues.
Additionally, I would like to highlight my negative experience with a staff member named Suthatta, who was extremely unfriendly, uncooperative, and unwilling to listen to the issues we raised. She often responded with unreasonable and unacceptable answers, deliberately using provocative tones that left me feeling hopeless.
When I refused to deal with her further, I contacted the Tourist Police for assistance. Only then did the situation change, and she started offering compensations such as a free night at the hotel or a complimentary dinner. However, I declined these offers, as her uncooperative and unfriendly attitude from the beginning left me with no trust in the hotel’s service.
This experience was deeply disappointing and did not meet the standards expected from a 4-star establishment.
In the end, we decided to check out early and move to another hotel to enjoy some peace for the remaining two nights...
Read moreThe property is not ready to receive guests as there are still unfinished construction and interiors. they charged THB 3000 as deposit despite having paid in full at check-in using debit card. The room was not ready at check in time. The Wi-Fi connection did not work. The hotel staff came and attended to the Wi-Fi situation after three calls from us. Despite that repair work, Wi-Fi was poor. Any room service or house keeping required three to four calls. Breakfast on all days that we were there was leftover food from the previous day. it was cold and was infested with flies - especially the breads. Potato wedges were cold and soggy. “Breakfast included” is not worth. There is no visible security at the front desk. The lone elevator can be accessed by anyone and they can find the way to any of the rooms. This is definitely not safe for families with children. Check out was the worst. The Manager on duty was unprofessional, rude and determined to not return the THB 3000 “deposit”. She accused us of having stolen 3 beach towels that was not even part of the room during check in. The hotel did not have any records of having provided us those towels and yet she insisted that there were three missing towels in the room. After a long time of looking around and searching records, and asking me to go back up to the room and still not finding the “beach towels”, she hesitantly handed over the THB 3000. She came back to me in a few minutes asking to open all my bags/suitcases to inspect/check “just to be sure”. At this point I said that she’s welcome to open and check, however if there are no towels in my luggage, she will have to pay me a certain amount of money. At this, she retreated. This was insulting and left a bitter taste at the end of our holiday. This was certainly not worth the money or the star rating that they claim. It is probably a 2 star at best. We will not be going back to Anona Beachfront and neither will we be recommending this property to...
