I recently visited at Nonna & Son Pattaya with three friends 😅😅, and here are feedbacks 😅
Pros: Tasty Pizza: The pizza was genuinely delicious, exactly as good as many online reviews promised. Nice Atmosphere: The overall vibe was pleasant, aligning with the cozy, rustic feel often described online.
Cons: Chicken Quality Issue: I ordered the Chicken Alfredo, which included fried chicken. Unfortunately, the chicken had a strong, unpleasant smell, suggesting it might not have been fresh. Two of my friends noticed the same thing, indicating this might be a broader issue with ingredient storage or quality control. Regular freshness checks before serving could help avoid this.
Service Management: Sitting outdoors felt a bit neglected. Despite several occupied tables, we struggled to catch the attention of the staff. It seemed like there wasn’t a dedicated server for the outdoor area, which led to long waits just to place an order. This poor service flow discouraged us from ordering more.
Comfort in the Heat: If you’re offering outdoor seating, proper ventilation is crucial. Despite having fans set up, many weren’t plugged in or turned on, making the heat unbearable. A simple fix like this could greatly improve the comfort of your guests.
Restroom Maintenance: The men’s handwashing tap had very weak water pressure.
Expectations vs. Reality: I’m a regular at Shalaba in Bangkok, probably visited about 20 times since last year, so I had high hopes for this trip to your Pattaya location. Given the price point, the expectations for quality and service are naturally higher. If you’re charging a premium, every detail, from ingredient quality to customer service, needs to reflect that.
I’d like to come back, but there’s a clear need for better management and attention to detail. 😅😅
P.S. And this doesn’t even include small details like proper parking ticket...
Read moreFemale manager with short hair and glasses was extremely rude and it turned out to be one of the worst experiences in Thailand.
We had dinner one day and since we really liked it we decided to make a reservation for the next day and come back again. We asked one of the staff to make a reservation for the next day. She wrote down the date and time so that we don’t miscommunicate. So I’m sure we did it right.
Next day, We told the staff we have a reservation and one of them lead us to the table then this female manager came to us “ this is only for reservation” so we said “we have a reservation and we were told to sit here.” But she kept saying this seat is for reservation and “ what was the staff name you made a reservation to? If you can’t answer how would I know that you really have a reservation? If you don’t know the name how can I believe you ?” I was very shocked to be treated this way because I’ve never been doubted when I simply tell them I have a reservation.
She came out of nowhere and was almost angry at us for nothing …
I was very confused then the other male staff told me “I am sorry I understand the situation but she’s the manager so we can’t do anything.” All other staffs were amazing so basically this female manager who is supposed to make the restaurant better...
Read moreThe ambiance, view and design of the roof top terrace is great. The food is acceptable but I'd suggest selecting the cheaper dishes. The higher end dishes (900thb+) are ridiculously overpriced for quality/quantity vs price. In good resto in bkk you get much much better value for money on those dishes. For dishes at 300-400thb it's acceptable for quality to trade off to the view and ambiance. Service to be honest is just terrible. My friend and i ordered dinner together, his dinner arrived an hour later than mine, and only cause he got up (cause Cant get staff attention) after 40 mins to cancel the order... And yes we ran up a decent bill of 5k for two of us with their overpriced wine... But most of the time we were pouring ourselves.... I really want to give this place a better review cause I can say 1.the food was decent and tasty The ambiance and design is good. There is a wide variety menu. Unfortunately A. Value for money, even compared to many, much much better resto in bkk is not acceptable. (I live in downtown bkk, value did not match) B. Service is at best abysmal. I can get more attentive service at an elderly Chinese auntie diner in HK than here. And that's pretty much the ultimate insult for...
