I’ve been in Pattaya for 2 weeks now, and had a craving for sushi but didn’t want to go all out crazy and wanted a reasonably priced fast no nonsense place. All in all, this place hit the mark for me. I’m a critical person, so, I’ll start with the bad critical points first. I ordered a very small sushi set and some soba. Rice was a tiny bit too soft in the sushi. But getting the rice texture just right of course is the toughest part of making sushi(same as how bread dough can do crazy things just based on humidity on a given day), and it wasn’t bad at all, just tiny bit short of perfect but was the reason why I couldn’t give 5/5 stars on the food rating, but won’t be surprised if I go tomorrow and it’s perfect so consider the 4/5 rating on food I gave to be more like 4.7/5. The squid I think was aged but was a bit on the tough side. I ordered the Tanuki Soba and I wish they would instead have raised the price a bit and increased the portion a bit. Those are all my critical points - and that’s me being super nit-picky. Now, the Good; 1. Prices seemed extremely good for the quality and quantity. 2. Service and welcome was more than excellent. 3. Authentic Japanese atmosphere and Japanese operated and Japanese hospitality and attention to detail. 4. And although I was critical earlier, the important parts of the small sushi set were excellent. The saba(mackerel), tako(octopus), unagi(eel), were all on point, which I think would be most people’s favorites. The shrimp was also very good and had a light natural sweetness to it. The other fish sushi were all aged properly and had more flavor than I expected. I would recommend this small restaurant and regret not ordering more. The location is super convenient, and staff are super attentive, and though not the best sushi I’ve ever had - I’ve been to Japan afterall. And based on the Tanuki Soba, can’t exactly recommend the noodle soup dishes, but overall, I was pleasantly surprised at the service, quality and price for the generous quantity. This place was like a 5 minute walk from my hotel, so, I’m super happy to have found it; Definitely will go back for...
Read morenice sushi restaurant providing close to Japan local quality at a much lower price. Not the best sushi I like in my life, but considering the price is just 1/5 to 1/4 comparing to japan, I would still rate it in 5 and recommend anybody to pay a visit to. I was ordering Matsu (pine tree in Japanese) combination all the time, only charging 3xx B with 9 different sushi all fresh and been made ad-hoc. Obviously you cannot get as fresh and good fish as what you get in Otaru easily, this is Thailand with a warm temperature in the sea anyway. Over all this is amazing and beyond my expectation, recommend to anyone, especially who is wondering to know how sushi tastes in japan. Btw I was ordering Saba too due to my...
Read moreAfter days of Thai seafood, we went to this restaurant for a change of flavour. We were glad that we dine here. The restaurant eludes some warmth that makes dining pleasant. As we were rather early, there was no one at the restaurant and thus we have the full attention of the chef and boss.
We had five kinds sashimi, maki, soup etc that one normally ordered at Japanese restaurant. The sashimi were fresh and the slices reasonable. The maki was huge and the shishamo were filled with roes and tasty. We washed down the food with two orders of house pour sake.
The food is great in this restaurant and thank you Yamato...
