Ning’s Mango Stand — Restaurant in Phra Khanong Subdistrict

The stall owner said that it was better to take size M because of the sweetness of the mango, because size S can be sour. As for the mango, it was indeed sweet (better than in Michelin guide restaurants). The question is how much of it was true that a smaller mango would be more sour, and how much of it was a marketing ploy to make you pay more. Overall, the mango sticky rice was delicious, and the portion was enough for two people. I'm taking one star off for putting the core of the mango on the plate - hard, impossible to cut and therefore to eat. Since it's inedible anyway, I don't see why they put it there. Unless, of course, it's a marketing thing again, to make the portion...

This is one of the best mango sticky rice I've had in my life, and I think the owner deserves more recognition for her food:)

This stall is tucked away in a quiet alley that is frequented mostly by locals, but I've made it a point to visit this stall at least once, each time I'm in Bangkok.

I tried some other popular stalls such as Mae Varee (right across the road) and the popular dessert stall at Terminal 21, ie 1 serving each for 3 nights in a row, but in terms of taste and value for money, Ning's beats the rest hands down.

The best mango sticky rice we have. We love mango sticky rice and always try to find places that sell them and so far Nings has hold out attention for few years..
