If you’re staying at The Standard, Hua Hin, the breakfast buffet at Lido is something you don’t want to miss. It’s the perfect way to start your day, offering a mix of quality dishes in a relaxed and stylish setting.
The variety is impressive but not overwhelming. They’ve got everything you’d expect from a good breakfast spread—fresh fruits, pastries, eggs cooked to order, and some standout Thai options as well. I particularly enjoyed their freshly baked croissants—flaky, buttery, and still warm. Pair that with a good cup of coffee (which they do well here), and it’s already a great morning.
The live egg station is a highlight. Whether you’re in the mood for an omelet, scrambled, or sunny-side up, they cook it perfectly to your liking. If you prefer local flavors, their Thai dishes, like stir-fried noodles or chicken rice porridge, are light but flavorful—a nice touch that sets this buffet apart.
The atmosphere at Lido is lovely—bright, airy, and open, with a relaxed vibe that matches the hotel’s signature style. You can choose to sit indoors or out by the pool, where the breeze makes breakfast even more enjoyable. It’s quiet, unhurried, and ideal for a leisurely start to your day.
The staff are attentive and friendly, making sure plates are cleared and coffee cups are full without being intrusive.
Overall, Lido’s breakfast buffet strikes a great balance—high-quality food, a good mix of international and local dishes, and a beautiful setting to enjoy it all. Whether you’re an early riser or someone who likes to take it slow, it’s a breakfast...
Read moreWe had a wonderful Italian lunch at Lido, a really classy, yet not at all posh, seaside restaurant in Hua Hin.
Lido is located inside the The Standard Hua Hin, just a few steps up from one of the region's most beautiful beaches. We ate the delicious pumpkin soup, juicy slices of mozzarella with sliced heirloom tomatoes, excellently prepared snapper risotto and a very tender and flavorful Wagyu steak accompanied by a ruccola salad lightly marinated in a perfectly sweet and savory, balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
Just like the dishes we enjoyed, the service at Lido was impeccable and the team working during our lunch were all very knowledgeable and pleasant to interact with.
Over the years, I’ve enjoyed many wonderful meals all over Thailand. From peculiar rural street food in Chiang Rai (north), intensely spicy meals in Hat Yai (deep south) and experienced a few of Bangkok’s most respected eateries. With its amazing location, excellent service, sumptuous and beautifully presented dishes, Lido is certainly one of my new favorite Italian restaurants in Thailand. And I haven’t even mentioned the amazing Tiramisu or the dark chocolate cake we had for dessert there!

Read moreNot recommended. Snooty reception. No valet parking. The restaurant is far away from the entrance, a long walk on a concrete path. Our request for a buggy was refused, I guess only the managers use them. The Italian restaurant is called LIDO. LIDO means beach. This is a deliberate misleading, because the restaurant is not on the beach. The Thai beach restaurant is only open in the evening. The LIDO is modern but simply furnished and you can't see the beach or the sea. The food is excellent (but nothing special), the service is very helpful and attentive. But the table hygiene is absolutely unacceptable. Cutlery on the bare, not quite clean table top, a no-go. The coasters for the glasses are disgusting, looks like mould. Wine list is very small but still the chosen wine is not available. Nice to have some wine from top importer Vinum Lector. Yet, Colombard is a red wine here, which shows how unprofessionally this is managed. Salt and pepper is not at the table. My impression is that the management has enormous room for improvement. When we leave, we are being ordered around by the parking attendants, who even knock on our car window. Maddening....
