My husband said today, he took me to the best salad in Bangkok 😂 I thought the joke was so scary, so delicious that the couple ate all papaya, slurping the whole country 😂

The restaurant is very crowded, indigenous there, tourism has (mostly I see Korea, Japan and China), L through 12am but have to wait 10 minutes to have a table while 11h will open the door 😊 Michelin chef review is different hehe

Thai papaya salad is simply papaya, 1-2 stalks of cowpea, 2 pieces of tomatoes, mixed with shrimps, sweet and sour fish sauce ... So you can eat it once you wake up 😂😂😂 Papaya is very delicious, the crispy, cool, blended with sweet and sour fish sauce but very refreshing, salty of shrimp, spicy but very pleasant, hot weather to eat this salad, very good !!! This is a branding dish, so it is also very special that everything is made fresh, new customers come to order, including the sauce so the salad always has a fresh taste 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Recommended dishes include crispy chicken wings, soft, succulent, whole kumquat Sake 😂

There were fish cakes that looked good, but Lin didn't order. Well, the coconut cream dish is really pleasing, aromatic creamy, greasy, smells of coconut, hit the place with copra, like it very much. Longan tea is...

Ban Somtum is my all time favorite somtum (Thai Style Salad) place with fresh and clean ingredients. My all time favorite menus are Luangprabang Somtum and the Signature Fried Chicken. The level of spice for normal spicy is quite spicy. If you don’t like the burning spicy temptation, recommend to go with medium spicy first for an enjoyable level type of spicy. The plates come in small portion so you can definitely order at least 4 dishes for two people. I also ordered Lemon Grass Juice as a beverage and surprisingly it turned out better than I expected because I found it quite unique to be served with lemon grass jelly. If you like Lemon Grass, definitely check this Lemon Grass Juice menu with Jelly out. Price is in the medium range but worth it with the quality that you get. Waiters are so proactive, friendly, and happy to service you. The parking is quite limited. So during busy hours, may be difficult to find parking. The ambient of restaurant is family style and quite spacious. Definitely one of my favorite eating spot. This restaurant has different franchise around the city but not many branches. So try to search for the closest branch near you for...

Baan Somtum is a gem for those seeking an authentic Thai dining experience, and their somtum dishes are an absolute highlight. Here are some dishes you simply can’t miss:

Deep Fried Minced Pork: A flavorful delight that captures the essence of Thai cuisine. Fish Cake: Delicately crafted and bursting with rich flavors, the fish cakes at Baan Somtum are a must-try. Papaya Somtum: The star of the show, their papaya somtum is a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and tangy, offering a true taste of Thailand. Pork Neck: Tender and succulent, the pork neck dish showcases the restaurant’s mastery in preparing meats to perfection. Crispy Fried Fish with Specialty Sauce: The fried fish at Baan Somtum is a crispy delight that, when paired with their specialty sauce, creates a symphony of flavors.

The authenticity of the dishes is evident, making Baan Somtum a go-to spot for anyone craving genuine Thai flavors. The attentive service and inviting atmosphere only add to the overall delightful dining experience. I highly recommend Baan Somtum for those who appreciate the true taste...

The whole deep fried sea bass is perfection here. Amazingly light and crispy, with the mango salad dressing cutting through. So good, must order! The beef rib eye salad was on the tough side, not as great can skip this. Their fried banana blossom was delicious with the red curry batter too. Their tom yum gong is seems to be a different version of the clear tom yum soup, which I felt was strongly green chilli and coriander flavoured, compared to the other type of tom yum soup which has more kaffir lime and lemongrass. It was pretty spicy, packs a solid punch. Great little restaurant here! Coconut ice cream was like a fine coconut sorbet rather than a cream based version. Delicious. Only downside is that it can get really noisy and echoy inside. But it's a small downside, just don't expect to he able to hear each other and have much of a conversation. All in for four people we ordered about 2x salad, 1x fish, 1x beef, 1x soup. Which was more than enough. Cost THB2,000 for 4pax (with a few drinks too) which is really great value. Thumbs up.
