If you are searching for an authentic Japanese dining experience in the heart of Sathorn, The Japan Restaurant is a hidden gem worth discovering ๐Ÿฑโœจ. Located on the first floor of Sathorn Thani 2 Building ๐Ÿข, the restaurant feels like a secret corner of Japan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต tucked inside Bangkokโ€™s busy financial district ๐ŸŒ†. The atmosphere is simple and warm ๐Ÿฎ, designed to feel more like a true Japanese eatery than a modern fusion spot ๐Ÿœ. Walking in, you are greeted by the smell of freshly grilled dishes ๐Ÿข and the sound of lively conversations ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ. The menu is extensive ๐Ÿ“–, covering everything from sushi ๐Ÿฃ, sashimi ๐ŸŸ, bento boxes ๐Ÿฑ, tempura ๐Ÿค, and hearty rice bowls ๐Ÿš. One of the highlights is their Sashimi Special ๐Ÿ , where the fish slices are thick, fresh, and generously portioned ๐Ÿ˜. The quality of the seafood is impressive ๐ŸŒŠ, almost like dining in Japan itself ๐Ÿ—พ. Another favorite is the Tempura Set ๐Ÿคโ€”crispy yet light, paired with fluffy Japanese rice ๐Ÿš. For lunch, their bento sets ๐Ÿฑ are both satisfying and affordable ๐Ÿ’ต, a top choice for office workers ๐Ÿ‘” nearby. Unlike many other Japanese restaurants in Bangkok, the pricing here feels fair ๐Ÿ‘ for the quality you receive โญ. The staff are attentive and polite ๐Ÿ™, always ready to recommend dishes if you are unsure ๐Ÿค”. They also serve unlimited refillable hot green tea ๐Ÿต, which adds extra comfort ๐ŸŒฟ. Service is quick โฑ๏ธ during both lunch and dinner ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ, though the restaurant can get crowded at noon ๐Ÿ•›. If you plan to visit at lunchtime โฐ, itโ€™s smart to arrive early โณ or be ready to wait patiently ๐Ÿช‘. The vibe is casual and unpretentious ๐Ÿ˜Š, perfect for both solo diners ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿณ and groups of friends ๐Ÿ‘ฏ. It doesnโ€™t try to be overly fancy ๐Ÿ’Žโ€”it simply delivers authentic Japanese flavors ๐ŸŽŒ. This is why many Japanese locals ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต in Bangkok choose it as their go-to spot ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ. The Japan Restaurant is not a trendy Instagram cafรฉ ๐Ÿ“ธ, but rather a reliable classic ๐Ÿฎ. Itโ€™s the kind of restaurant youโ€™ll return to again and again ๐Ÿ”„, because consistency and comfort matter โค๏ธ. For anyone craving real Japanese food in Bangkok ๐ŸŒŸ, The Japan Sathorn is absolutely worth a...

We went here because of the reviews and proximity to our place, but we were disappointed overall. We ordered the kitsune udon, gyoza, karaage, unagi set, and some sushi. Only the udon and the rice in the unagi set came out close to being hot (but still, not quite). The gyoza, karaage, and unagi were lukewarm, as if they had been prepared some time before. The gyoza filling was dense. The karaage was not marinated and the flour was unseasoned, resulting in a really bland dish. The unagi had no roasted flavor, and the sauce lacked overall flavor. The rice for the unagi as well as for the sushi was too wet and mushy.

I find it hard to believe that this restaurant is overseen by the Japanese association, as some other reviews claim. None of the flavors reminded me of Japan at all (unlike another Japanese restaurant very close by). While some might find the atmosphere charming, it seemed like they were serving food in a place that is a library or reading room during the day. The food is cheaper than other Japanese places if that is an important reason for choosing a...

The Japan Restaurant Delicious Japanese Style restaurant at an affordable price. You wonโ€™t be disappointed to eat here if youโ€™re carving for a Japanese meal. The restaurant also serves free refills of either hot tea or cold tea. Both of which you can swap anytime you want.

There are various menus to choose from. Ranging from sashimi to a full meal. There are enough options that most people would always have something to choose and more than enough to keep coming back to try out other menus. I highly recommend the โ€œMiso Kushi Katsuโ€ (Deep Fried Chicken Stick with Miso Sauce). If you love to eat chicken, I can certainly vouch that this menu will blow your mind. Furthermore, since this restaurant uses authentic Japanese rice, combining it with a rice menu will take things up a notch.

Another menu that you should order as you eat is Miso soup. The Miso soup in this restaurant is well blended with enough punch that it wonโ€™t overwhelm the food youโ€™re eating but rather enhances...

Update Sep 28, 2023 - been here about 8x in the past 7 weeks, food and service still consistently good/fresh. Still my fav place to go for Japanese food in Silom thatโ€™s a great balance between quality & price. Initial review - Been here some +dozen times in the past 10 months and still 4-5 stars for service, food quality and reasonable/fair prices. I've basically stopped going to Fuji and come here instead after a local friend told me about this place. It's pretty busy at peak lunch and dinner times (even on the weekend), so try to come a little early or late to avoid the crowd. It's great to see they are very busy because you know the raw fish (sushi) will be fresh/food turn over (I hesitate to eat raw fish at places that aren't busy). There's a lot to pick from one the menu, including pretty good/solid Japanese curry & rice/noodles dishes. The place is usually filled with +90% locals vs. tourists - the locals know where to go for a good meal/deal :)
