Hokkaido Restaurant in Silom, Bangkok offers a cozy and traditional Japanese dining experience. As soon as you step inside, you're transported to a little slice of Japan with the warm, wooden decor and authentic Japanese details throughout the space.
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. They're knowledgeable about the menu and happy to provide recommendations, which is helpful for navigating the extensive selection of Japanese dishes.
The real star of the show, however, is the food. Hokkaido specializes in delicious izakaya-style small plates and shareable dishes. Everything we tried, from the grilled yakitori skewers to the creamy, savory oyako don, was fresh, flavorful, and made with high-quality ingredients.
The restaurant also has an impressive sake selection, allowing you to pair your meal with the perfect drink. We particularly enjoyed the lively atmosphere in the evenings, when the restaurant fills up with a mix of local Japanese expats and curious Bangkok diners looking for an authentic Japanese experience.
Overall, Hokkaido Restaurant is a fantastic choice for anyone craving traditional Japanese cuisine in a cozy, welcoming setting. Whether you're in the mood for a casual izakaya experience or a more formal dining affair, this place delivers on both quality and ambiance. Highly recommended for Japanese food...

Edit: Service was incredibly slow. We sat on table 4 at 6:15 for the yakitori buffet and we were only served three times in the 90 minute window (AND we reserved ahead). A bit of a shame really as food was quite nice and the waitresses seemed quite attentive. Sadly I could not recommend anyone to dine here.
The only redeeming factor for service was that they offered a free parfait for the table (albeit we already ordered one and they didn't make that one free but gave us another one we didn't want and charged us for the other). Maybe next time offer free drinks or something earlier on instead of letting your customers wait for an hour without food served...
Read moreWe had the yakitori buffet (330 per pax svc. inclusive). Personally for me, the chicken felt a bit bland but my friends really love them. Would suggest the chicken thighs and fish egg sauce.
Overall this place is a great place to hang out after work. Quite a few selection of alcohol, the beer price isn't too expensive and there is private room.
The entrance can be quite easy to miss. Face the car park building, on the right corner has small staircase leading to the elevator,...
