This is one of many Bangkok's Michelin Bib Gourmand places to try. I was staying not far from this place and I woke up early to visit this place for breakfast. There were not many customers in the shop but the staff were very busy. They seemed to be more busy with takeaway orders than the dine in orders. Ordering food here is very easy as you only need to choose the pork leg and rice. The size of the pork leg depends on how much you want to eat or how many people are sharing it. Didn't take more than 2 minutes for the food to arrive after taking my order. First look it looked good and smelled good I thought one plate of rice would not be enough. Have to say the pork leg was really well executed. The skin and the meat was so soft it could just melt in your mouth. The sauce is so addictive and special cause I would have expected it to be savoury yet it tasted sweet. And also the collagen from the skin should make the sauce thick but it was quite watery. The smallest portion is sometimes even too much for one person. I finished the rice and still had some meat left. I finished everything clean, the meat pairs quite well with the spicy sauce, loved the soft preserved vegetables hidden under the pork leg. Nothing much to fault, simple meal but very satisfying. Price wise is also super reasonable in terms of quality and...

We stayed at Silom and found this place by accident. It's located at one of the the little lanes just opposite Lebua State Tower. We were there really early, at 8am and the place was packed. There's a counter just for takeaway and another for eat-in. It's where the locals takeaway packets and packets of food and leave. It seems to be really popular among locals too - attracting tourists as well. Because of that, some of their staffs could speak basic English to cater to tourists.

We did not have difficulties ordering, it was simply swift. We tried some of the fatty bits, the trotter and had some lean meat as well. Very perfectly braised - meat was absolutely tender, fatty bits was about right. The pork knuckle looks too huge for two pax so we skipped that. Have it with their homemade chilli....

It was only at 8.30am and we overheard the lady telling a customer that something ran out already. I didn't get what was that, but the fact that something ran out by 8.30am says how quickly their food finishes... Be thre early if you would like to savour on some collagen and cartilage!!

I thought this place is good to cater to the Silom neighbourhood, but I don't think I will travel all the way just for this. I'm sure there are better ones in different...

Racist! Lied and said no more trotters left, and then only for Chinese and Thai.

Been living in Thailand for many years and even Thai national despite being a Farang. For ages wanted to try here and was very suprised to be told at 9am that the famous trotters "not have" and I thought hey they must have sold out early. The small plate I did have tasted nice but then as I was finishing I noticed lots of others being served the trotters! So I asked hey whats going on and the staff were all looking very sheepish and awkward. Manager came over and I asked why I was told it was sold out and many people in the restaurant still being served. She said as Chinese New Year it is for Chinese only and to celebrate their ancestors! I told her I live in Thailand and this is an ridiculous to lie like this to customers as they serve. There may have been a hint of an apology but what an outrageous experience and treating what she thought was a white tourist different to the Chinese. I may go back tomorrow and demand I be served...

I was in the mood for some typical Thai food and found Kha Mu Charoensang Silom just five minutes away from where I was staying. Arriving around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, I noticed the long line of people waiting to taste "Kha Mu" or Stew Pork Knuckle, a clear sign of the shop’s popularity. Do note, that it’s cash only here; I had to walk a couple of minutes to an ATM at Assumption School to withdraw some cash. However, the line moved fast, and I was seated within about five minutes. I ordered a mix of lean meat & skin fat and one offal, both in small portions. The taste was satisfying and met my expectations, especially with the Thai sauce adding extra flavor. Unfortunately, they didn’t include garlic, which I like. The meal was reasonably priced at 140 baht, with small portions costing 60 baht each, rice for 10 baht, and water for 10 baht. (The big one in the picture cost you about 2xx baht, the tourist who joined me at a table ordered it.)
