My quest to eat bento in the Thaniya area (not a euphemism) on Sunday failed.

My walk in, and around, the area however, led me to Osaka Osho (OO) and what a pleasant discovery.

Clean, bright, and inviting, I liked the menu options (all the Japanese staples) and ordered a Mapo set that included a salad and goyza for 340 baht.

What a bargain. The tofu was on point but could have been a bit spicier, while the side dishes were great complements. Portion and quality wise, OO hits the spot and I also nearly finished a jug of cold green tea (having just walked 10 kilometers).

All up another excellent Japanese fast foodish dining experience and I will be back when I’m hungry and need a quick goyza (and much)...

PHENOMENAL!! The service was friendly, helpful and responsive. The food was perfect. Some other reviews talked about gyoza being too small - if we go by the yardstick of Japanese gyozas, they were perfectly sized, perfectly flavoured and perfectly cooked! This was FLAWLESS izakaya style dining, and the karaage (as much as the gyoza) does not disappoint! My husband, being Japanese, raved about the authenticity, which is a struggle to find in Australia. It was so good we went back for lunch the next day - the lunch sets are just as amazing as the a la carte menu items. We're still talking about our experience there - one of the best dining experiences during our stay in Thailand....
