Went for a weekday dimsum lunch buffet (790++) and was surprised at how not special most items are. Most food taste very normal, which is actually subpar compared to my personal expectation that grew from having read reviews and knowing that it’s a hotel Chinese restaurant. When you’re paying to go for a dimsum in a hotel; you do expect it to be good. The more notable items from the buffet were the Fried Purple Taro and the Sago with Cantaloupe in coconut milk.
The item that disappointed me the most was the Goh Si Mie, which is a fried noodle topped with a brown gravy. Having had Gohsimie my entire life, I had yet to see one where no white bamboo shoot was involved. This was not included in the buffet, but I ordered it to see how they do the standardized Cantonese dish for any Cantonese restaurant. Needless to say, I was sorely disappointed. No bamboo shoots. No white chives. Not even that tasty. Sad.

Food wise it is 3 out of 5 as it is not quite close to the Cantonese flavor. The signature sweet and sour pork was suppose to be crispy but the meat is just too soft and sweet.
Some dishes required the meat or prawn to be pre-fried in hot oil before putting back to wok to cook with the sauce but the still there is a lack of crispiness and moisture.
We had Pekin duck and the meat we had minced meat which is very salty and fried basil which is cannot even match those street stall.
And the cooked food was left on the side serving table for a long time without being serve to us even when our table still has space left. The dessert was already out on the side table when there is still some hot food not being serve yet.
