I’m telling you—wandering the streets of Thailand at any time of the day or night can lead you to the most wonderful, weird, and interesting kinds of places.

One such evening, around 10 PM, I was drifting around the Khaosan area when I noticed a few people walking into a place called Mumbai Café. Intrigued, I followed them in—an Indian-themed restaurant was the last thing I expected to stumble upon there.

To my surprise, the place was done up with a lot of heart. The decor was completely over the top—much like Bangkok itself—and somehow, it worked. It felt like a joyful marriage between Thai and Indian visual cultures, creating a space that was vibrant, bold, and memorable.

Since I wasn’t hungry and definitely not in the mood for Indian food that night, I skipped the menu and just ordered my favourite Thai rum—Sangsom. I ended up spending a solid chunk of time clicking photos of the space, soaking in the energy. The staff—both the waiters and the bartender—were kind and encouraging me to take more photos.

The place was fairly empty that night, likely because of the season, but I can imagine it getting lively and fun with a bigger crowd. What really sets Mumbai Café apart is how unashamedly maximalist it is—perfectly fitting the energy of Khaosan Road at night.

If nothing else, I’d say at least walk by, stop in for a drink, and soak up the vibe. It's a space created with a lot of heart—and that alone makes it...

You've hit the bottle hard and it's Khaosan Road, the center of Bangkok's wild nightlife. Suddenly, you're craving something spicy and hearty, and boom! You stumble upon Cafe Mumbai.

Cafe Mumbai, my friend, is a haven for any Indian food lover wandering around the infamous Khaosan Road. The minute you step in, the aromatic whiff of spices and warm naan will smack you right in your senses - pure bliss, I tell you. It's like you've been teleported straight from the heart of Thailand to the vibrant streets of Mumbai.

The menu here is loaded with traditional Indian favorites - biryanis that'd make you weep with joy, samosas that are little packets of flavor explosions, and the naans - soft, fluffy, perfect to scoop up the curry. Make sure you try their butter chicken and palak paneer - they're to die for!

And the service? Top-notch! The staff's as friendly as they come - they'll help you pair your food with the perfect drink from their decently stocked bar. So, if you've had a few too many Chang beers, try the Old Monk & Coke - it's like a slice of home.

The place gets packed, but it's part of the charm - people laughing, clinking glasses, and the constant hum of chatter. It's the perfect way to round up a night of partying.

So, if you're lost and intoxicated on Khaosan Road, look for the neon sign of Cafe Mumbai. Dive in for some good old comfort food. Trust me, you'll be thanking your drunk self for making...

If you're looking for a cozy, intimate spot that serves up delicious Indian food and a great selection of drinks, look no further than this charming restaurant/bar. The atmosphere here is incredibly warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to unwind.

The menu offers a delightful array of Indian dishes, but my absolute favorite is the Maggi Masala. It's comfort food at its finest, bursting with flavors that remind you of home. The blend of spices and perfectly cooked noodles is simply irresistible.

One of the standout features of this place is the live music. The DJ and live singers create an enchanting ambiance that elevates the dining experience. Whether it's a popular Bollywood tune or a soulful melody, the music here never disappoints.

Running the show is Ramesh, the best manager you could hope for. His attention to detail and genuine care for the customers make every visit special. Ramesh's warmth and hospitality truly set this place apart.

In short, this restaurant/bar is a gem. With its fantastic food, great music, and stellar service, it offers a unique and memorable experience that keeps you coming back for more. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a cozy night out with amazing Indian cuisine and live...
