Summary: Hands down the best Tom Yum in the city, with equally amazing garlic seafood (shrimp, squid, etc.). A must-try while in BKK.

Tip: Get there relatively early, as items often run out before closing time. Also, don't be fooled by a similar street food stall next door; just go with the one with the most people and which matches the photos.

Quality: This easily one of my favorite spots in BKK. The tom yum is fantastic, as is the garlic seafood. Absolutely spectacular. The quality of ingredients and freshness beats most of the fine dining I've had in Bangkok.

Value: Not the cheapest street food in the city, but still very reasonable. I believe mains are something like $5 or so.

Ambiance/service: It's street food, so you have to be comfortable with that. If you are ok with that, then you're in for a treat. I've always had great experiences with the staff- the lady who takes orders is super friendly will dial spice up (or down) as you wish, presuming you can ask in Thai ("ped mak khun" - more spicy / "ped noii khun...

I came here because of the famous YouTuber, Mark Wiens’ apparent obsession over their ‘Tomyum Kung’. Let me tell you something. If this place is on your to-eat list and you never had the opportunity to try it out, there’s absolutely no need to regret. I mean it’s a decent choice for a quick street food meal in the area with good value for money and all.

The thing is that there’s nothing special here — just average local Thai dishes. The ‘Tomyum Kung’ doesn’t come close to setting a benchmark for what an authentic Tomyum Kung should taste like.

What bothers me a lot about this place is their lack of effort to keep the place hygiene even by general Bangkok street food stall standards. And I also had one of the most awful experiences eating there while the owners and some of their friends were having a very joyful and extremely loud conversation over our table...

This place is scamming tourists! I ordered the Tom Yum Kung and garlic shrimps as recommended from a certain YouTuber. First of all the service is bad. The waitress was rude from the start. The Tom Yum Kung was fine. But the garlic shrimps were a scam. There were exactly two shrimps on top of onions. And I mean literally TWO. When I pointed it out. The owner was not happy at all. She mumbled something in Thai and went back to the kitchen with the plate. Apparently she was gossiping about us because the chef gave us a look and said something to her. After a while she came back with the plate of prawns. Now there were five shrimp instead of two. Funny that she knew straight away what it was all about when I just pointed to the shrimp. That must be a common practice of those. Just...

Mam Tom Yum Kung is one of the most visited food stall in Phra Nakhon Area. There's no aircon, just outdoor seating. Long queue from be time to time and the space always crowded with people. The must order dishes are Tom Yum Creamy Soup and Stir Fried Shrimp and Squid with lots of garlic! Incredible taste. Minus one star for no queue management, and no written down note from the server, once you ordered food, the person just memorized in his/her own head and carries via word of mouth to the Chef Mam (meaning....there's possibility your one of your food have the tendency to be forgotten).
