Just had a very upsetting and unnecessarily confrontational experience at Happy Fish, Asiatique. I’ve wanted to come here for some time given the beautiful location and appealing menu. We ordered drinks and mains (fish and chips & pasta) which was all delicious and ordered two sides of garlic bread to go with it. The bread came late (after mains were finished, but no biggie) but was inedible; dry to the point of a crisp - there was clearly no oil or butter on the dough. Spoke to a waiter and asked if we could have a replacement or some oil to dip it into. He came back and said no, because the chef had followed the recipe. We said we were not happy to pay if we couldn’t eat the bread and that there was no concession to remedy the issue. The Manager came over and was aggressive from the offset: she wouldn’t allow us to speak and forced us to us look at the picture of the menu and said it was the same. She went on to forcefully say in a loud tone so that other guests could hear that all “other customers were happy”. She had no name on her badge which said ‘Manager’ and did not introduce herself. Once she let us speak, we reiterated that everything else had been perfect and that just the garlic bread was hard and inedible and asked if there was anything that could be done. She again said no, because the chef had followed the recipe. She then threatened to call the police if we did not pay! A truly awful turn of events over a 150b side dish. Paid the bill (in full, including service charge) and left feeling like it’s quite possibly the worst customer experience...
Read moreI could honestly say this was the worse restaurant experience i ever had in my life. We asked for 3 cokes, 1 lemon tea and 3 pizzas. I told the waiter i didnt want any ice on my drinks. Another waiter came to bring the cokes and i repeated “no ice on the lemon tea please” When the first waiter came again, guess what? The tea had ice! I told her i didnt want the drink due to that, and she not only didnt change the drink but also made us paid for this drink separated from the rest of the meal…i thought this was very odd since we didnt even begun to eat…she said the tea was “from another restaurant owner”….at this point i started to get upset, but to not cause any trouble we paid for it. At the end of the meal we are also surprised to see that we have been charged with a 10% (?!) tax service without being informed of this at any point….i told her it wasnt fair to pay for this since i had bad service, i paid for something i didnt drink and wasnt informed of this tax….she was very rude and instead of trying to solve the situation her immediate responde was to call her manager and wanting to call the police……….. Worst restaurant Very loud and bad music Poor food VERY bad staff 100%...
Read moreWe’ve always come to Happy Fish when we’re at Asiatique as it’s a nice outdoor area and the food is quite good. I always also brought visitors here in the past.
However last night when we a group of 4 adults and 3 kids were charged 150 baht for a broken glass, we won’t come back again.
The glass was a promo glass which most likely was given to the restaurant for free. Also we ate and drank for 5-6000 baht so being this stingy for a broken glass just took my appetite for this place away. The prices are also quite inflated now with 540thb for 4 small Chang beers, the pork knuckle at 600 Thb was good but mostly fat and no meat. So it seems they are trying to squeeze the most cash they can out of this place now.
Will not return as there are many other nice places at Asiatique, this is sad cause I...
