Where to start?
The food is fantastic! The service is incredible!
I recommend eating on the top floor :)
We were really trying hard to find authentic Turkish food in Istanbul in a setting that did not scream "tourist trap". We found it here as recommended by a tour guide.
The Raki is great! We chose fish skewers and NEVER have I experienced such tender fish. These people are experts.
The vibes in the place are really nice. People seemed happy.
The owner is lovely - we really enjoyed chatting with him. In fact, when we asked him what his name is he pointed to the logo on the napkin. Ingenious! His name (Aret) is incorporated into the name of the restaurant. Aret'in Yeri can be generally translated as Aret's place.
Also, our waiter Sinan (apologies if the spelling is wrong) was also very attentive and bore an uncanny resemblance to Steph Curry.
I'd recommend it to anyone and would be happy...

The lakerda was an easy 10/10—the best I’ve ever had. The topik? Also 10/10! I usually say my family makes it best, but Aret’in Yeri might just beat me on that. I also tried the grilled anchovies based on the waiter’s recommendation, and I’m so grateful I did—it was fantastic.
Nothing beats the joy of delicious meze, fresh fish, and a glass of rakı as the sun sets. The restaurant is in Nevizade with a terrace—not much of a view, but the food more than makes up for it.
Prices are reasonable, and I truly appreciate the experience. This meal brought me so much joy and even helped ease my homesickness. Highly...
Read moreIf I could I would give zero star. We experienced a terrible service. There were only two waiters for the whole terrace. After ordering drink and a few mezes, for a long time we could not reach any waiter. We drank our rakı without any food. The worst part was not this. This can happen. Understaff working can be hard, and the owner is the one to blame. But the rudeness, indifference that the owner and the waiters showed, is not something that you could afford on a raki table. By the way after we complained neither the owner nor the waiters tried to compansate. Our special night is ruined. We left a meyhane hungry, the first...
