Ben'den Karaköy — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

As soon as we arrived I could sense the waiter thinking that we are just another foreigner couple who can be taken advantage of. He was wrong. First of all they brought two menus and the menus had different prices in them for the same items. When we were ordering drinks the waiter had a pushy attitude and wanted us to order the more expensive drinks (the cheaper ones were already expensive compared to other places). All went well until we got the bill. They charged us for the more expensive drinks that the waiter was showing us (I refused it 2 times). Can you really make a mistake like this after all I have written down? I don't think so, the table next to us also had problems with their bill, maybe this is a specialty of this place. They managed to correct our bill after waiting for another 15 minutes. The only good thing about this place was the live music, they were amazing, everything else is a tipical tourist trap.

Edit: Your explanation about our bill and the menu unfortunately does not make sense from your side. We were not charged at the old menu prices, we were charged at the new menu prices (which is totally okay) however not for the drinks that we ordered, but more expensive ones which I clearly refused to the waiter 2 times when he was being pushy about ordering the more expensive drinks. I live in Türkiye, I absolutely know the difference between honest business and a tourist trap, but the waiter made the mistake of thinking we are just another tourist couple who can be fooled. We visited this place in June 2025. Located in a touristic area of Istanbul, Ben’den Karaköy is a good spot if you’re looking to explore the city's nightlife. The area itself is lively and popular with both locals and tourists.

Ambience: The venue has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor space is traditional Turkish alley, with nicely furnished and decorated surroundings. When we visited, there was live music, and it seems they host it regularly.

What We Ordered: We had a mix of cocktails and beer. They also offer food and hookah (nargile) if you're interested in that.

The worst place which I visited in Istanbul, rude lady waitresses. I ordered smoothie with banana and strawberry , she brought some not fresh milk with banana sirop (like they use for coffee) after I said that why smoothie has milk and it’s not fresh ? she left and came back by saying that she just tried drink from my glass(OMG!!!!) and it’s good drink as it has to be and they use “their special handmade yogurt” (handmade yogurt in smoothie????) you have at least warn people about this, in menu it says that ingredients:banana and strawberry, that’s all! Nobody apologize or something, they didn’t offer to change the drink, they just came and asked to pay for it😅 I don’t recommend this place...
