I recently dined at The Peninsula Istanbul with my children and was initially impressed by the exceptional service and delightful cuisine. The ambiance was elegant, and the staff, particularly Mr. Gokhan and Mr. Gorkem, were attentive and courteous, ensuring our comfort throughout the evening.
However, our experience was marred by the disruptive behavior of a guest who began throwing small items, such as nuts, at our table, accompanied by loud laughter and intrusive actions. Despite our attempts to ignore the disturbance, the individual’s behavior escalated, causing us to feel unsafe.
Upon bringing the matter to the attention of the restaurant’s management and staff, they responded with utmost professionalism. They promptly apologized and took steps to address the situation, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining the high standards associated with The Peninsula brand. Their efforts to rectify the situation and ensure our satisfaction were commendable.
While the incident was unfortunate, the exemplary response from Mr. Gokhan, Mr. Gorkem, and the entire team reinforced my confidence in The Peninsula’s dedication to guest well-being. I would, however, suggest that the establishment consider implementing stricter measures to manage disruptive guests, ensuring that all patrons can enjoy their experience without disturbances.
Overall, I appreciate the staff’s swift action and hope that future visits will reflect the consistently high standards synonymous with The Peninsula...
Read moreLocated on top of the Golden City Hotel, you may think it is a posh and pricey place but actually it is a quite nice and cozy restaurant for a special dinner.
The view is simply great at night. Nice atmosphere. Make sure that you reserve a place near the windows.
The service was great. Both Ergün Chef and the other guy from Giresun (forgot his name, sorry!) were quite friendly and cheerful. They did their best to make us feel special. For example they prepared a dish that was not in the menu, they brought extra side dish as we loved it so much.
The food was not perfect as it had some minor issues. But we just went with it. Some of the appetizers and side dishes were great though. There were two fixed menu, with some options for desserts.
The price for a fixed menu with the main dish, appetizers, salad, dessert, drinks(rakı or wine) were 600TL per person. Which is definitely not cheap, but due to the latest prices, the view and the service, I would...
Read moreReally nice and famous place in Istanbul obvisously, with the view of both Galata Tower and the Marmara Sea. I am really happy with what we ordered so I am going to write it completely. There is a cheese board option and a appetizer plate (meze). Appetizers were great and went really good with wine, so I would say second option without a doubt. There are stable appetizers in addition too. For main course I took pasta with seafood. It was also okey, not the best but close. In the dessert option souffle was better than sansebastian cheesecake. Waiters were good and kind but the people sitting next to us were famous or I don't know, they changed the concept of the restaurant with awful music taste, and staff was taking care of them mostly but I won't be judging that since I had a really good experience. I will definitely go again,...
