Italiano Cafe — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

FINALLY!! A restaurant where the food is not only wonderful, but the waiting service is professionally on-point, friendly, and proactively efficient, UNLIKE many Turkish food establishments that have frustratingly bad and extremely inept service. Café Italiano should pride itself with its swift and efficient service personnel where other food service places should exemplify and strive to emulate. As a result, my dining experience was remarkably memorable with an absolute enjoyment for the food.

As for the food, it was delicious and wonderfully filling, but I still made room for dessert, a tasty chocolate carrot cake served gourmet style with a stream of chocolate. Since I woke up late today, it’s great that Turkey doesn’t have that stupid mentality of cutting-off breakfast by the late morning. I ordered my breakfast at 2:45PM, and I got warm plate of gorgeous eggs Florentine that was abundant and delicious.

The coffees were nicely and deliciously done, and the beautiful old jazz selections on their sound system added to the tranquil and scenic street ambiance.

When I return to Istanbul, I look forward to dining at Cafe Italiano again. So...

Tasteless food and terrible service👎🏻

About the food: The ravioli was quite bad. The sauce was sparse, tasteless, and lacked salt. It had nothing to do with what I ate in Italy or in any other good Italian Restaurants. The tiramisu was like a joke. It was made with pudding 😂 Just like a turkish mom made it :)… This place did not live up to the name Cafe Italiano.

Our negative experience(bad service): We went to this place for a meal. After the meal, we ordered dessert. However, the curly-haired, short waiter brought the bill with the dessert, even though we did not ask for it. Apparently, because we were Turkish, they wanted us to leave quickly. We ignored it and continued eating our dessert and chatting. Then the same curly-haired waiter came back and checked if we had paid, asking, ‘How will the payment be made?’ I said it would be by card, but we did not ask for the bill and that this behavior was quite rude. He then apologized, saying his colleague misunderstood. But we were not fools. The one who took our order and brought the bill was the same curly-haired waiter. We paid and left, never to...

I recently visited CAFE ITALIANO with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by mistakes and a refusal to accept responsibility. Our orders were incorrect, and when we brought it to the staff's attention, they were unapologetic and dismissive.

The food took a long time to arrive, and when it did, it was clear that the orders had been mixed up. We politely informed the server, who seemed unconcerned and argued that we must have ordered incorrectly. When we asked to speak to a manager, they were equally unhelpful and refused to offer any solutions or apologies.

The lack of accountability and poor customer service was shocking. It's unacceptable for a restaurant to deny their mistakes and not take steps to rectify the situation. The food quality was average at best, but the service and attitude of the staff overshadowed any positives.

I would not recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of other restaurants that value their customers and strive to provide a positive...
