This restaurant had a cute ambience , however the food was not that great. I went with my family to eat dinner here because we read the reviews and it sounded great, but the food was a big disappointment. The bread basket was not fresh, the octopus salad did not taste good. At the end a service charge was added to our bill I have not experienced this in the past a few days I have been staying in turkey as a visitor. At the end we were served tea which was good because we did not get changed for that. Their credit card machine requested to enter pin after paying a certain amount. I have never had to enter a pin when using my credit card at any restaurant this was very strange. It was not debit card rather a credit card so I am not sure what pin one needs to enter when it is a credit card this made it very difficult to use my card since no where has ever requested a pin and I did not know credit card that is not a debit card has a pin when you want to use for purchase. I forced to pay cash since they kept asking for a pin. They said a pin is required when spending a certain amount. This was very frustrating because if one does not carry cash what should happen then? Overall not what we had expected at all going based on the reviews we had read unfortunately. I give a 4 on the ambience but 1 on...
Read moreRead moreThis is definitely a great restaurant I would like to recommend after two weeks eating around as a foodie. First, the restaurant location is very special, the downstairs part of the building is over 300years, and above the ground part has 150 years history. Also, the food is truly good. After getting tired of kebabs and all type of oily dishes, they have very nice Turkish food. The ingredients they use were also very good. More than that, the live music band they invited to play is definitely great. We had the chance to closely look how they play the Oud and the beautiful happy music also made our dinner unforgettable. Also, they didn’t keep asking tips like other crazy tourist places. The price of food (include 10% service fees) for two person is still very good (5 small dishes + one main course + one soup + two desserts + drinks +10% service fees - 14.6 euro per person) . And definitely worth...
I've travelled the world and eaten in lots of places. This is one place I won't be coming back to.
The reviews and the ratings are what attracted us to this restaurant. We sat outside on stools...not chairs... ordered our starters and drinks. The guy adjacent to us sat facing our table and smoking at which point we asked if we could go downstairs. It seems that upstairs do not communicate with downstairs.
We waited close to 30 minutes for our starters...I had to get up and ask someone if the starters were coming. By this time I told them to forget the starters and get us our mains. There is nothing great about the food. The chicken was flavourless and the beef kofte was bland. I ordered extra fries...they didn't come.
We will definitely not be coming back and we know there are better places to eat in the area that provide a better service and...
