Vitavien | Beyoğlu — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

We stopped for an ice cream break and sat inside. We had our bags near our tables and the 2 men working insisted on us putting them at the back. I had put mine on the table and after we finished our ice creams we moved on.

5 minutes later I realised I had left my bag and went back to the shop where they told me it wasn’t there. I checked the other shops I had been to but remembered I had the bag at this place. I went back and asked if I could see the cctv footage to work out if I had taken it with me.

The man said their cctv was broken after we called the police the cctv was suddenly working. I identified my bag on the table in the shop but the man working took the phone back and I wasn’t able to see the footage again. The younger man also shouted at me to not touch the phone. It felt like they were involved in my bag being stolen and were very rude...

The crêpe and ice cream here are absolutely delicious, perfectly made and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is cozy and full of good vibes, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a treat. The most incredibly grumpy, rude, snobby staff I have ever met in Istanbul. Terrible communication, not friendly and a total buss kill. We were super polite and quiet and the main staff behind the counter couldn’t even crack a smile. Go somewhere else if you’re on holiday, you deserve to be treated like a decent person.
