I had the pleasure of dining at Meat Moot Taksim in October 2024, and it quickly became one of my favorite dining experiences in Istanbul. Over the course of just 10 days, I found myself returning multiple times, an obvious testament to the exceptional quality of this restaurant.

From the moment you step in, you can sense the bustling energy. The staff were a bit hectic, but understandably so, given the high demand. Despite the rush, they managed to maintain a friendly and attentive service, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.

Now, let’s talk about the food, the real star of the show. I tried their slow-cooked beef and lamb shanks, and I can confidently say they were some of the best I’ve ever had. The meat was perfectly tender, falling off the bone effortlessly, with flavors that were both rich and deeply satisfying. For lovers of beef, lamb and smoked meats, this is the only place you need to try.

When you enter the restaurant you're immediately faced with a row of smoking contraptions. You choose what type of meat you'd like from ribs, rack of lamb, beef brisket or neck and shoulder parts.

When you decide, they weigh your desired amount and put a heavy sprinkle of spices, salt and pepper.

All come with sides of potato, 5 sauces and safron rice. You'll also get a drink of choice once seated upstairs in their dining area.

We ordered the brisket twice and you couldn't believe how soft and incredibly tasty this is. You can also order extra sides of rice, potatoes and sauces as you go. There's no extra charge.

Moot meat is undoubtedly a favourite to visit in Taksim Square Turkey.

Service is above and beyond, with an extra level of customer interaction and satisfaction. The team regularly comes and discusses the food you're eating and asks if you need any assistance with the best combination of condiments to use for maximum taste.

Probably the most unusual, but most delicious combination was the honey, garlic and chimichurri mix. You definitely should try it.

Overall it is a place deserving of high praise! Well done to the team for quality food at fairly affordable pricing. 1.2 kg of brisket will set you back around 85 dollars. That's a lot of meat for 4...
