Gülhane Sur Cafe — Restaurant in Fatih

I had a really enjoyable experience at Gülhane Sur Cafe during my visit to Istanbul. The location itself is cozy and welcoming, with a very relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable right away. The food was great—fresh, flavorful, and served exactly as expected. Every dish tasted homemade, with authentic Turkish flavors that really stood out.

The service was also excellent. Everything came out quickly without feeling rushed, which was perfect for enjoying a meal while taking in the surroundings. The staff was kind and attentive without being overbearing. What really stood out to me was when we ordered tea at the end. They complimented our last tea order and brought it out as a kind gesture. I’m not sure if this is a cultural tradition or just something thoughtful from this café, but it felt very warm and genuine.

Located just walking distance from hagia sophia in an alley going downwards towards the tram line and gulhane park entrance. It’s a small cute cafe was perfect was a quick stop. Not to mentions its built next to a historical location which looks like a Roman defensive wall. Location 5/5

Service was a little slow with Shisha as there was only 2 person running the cafe at that time. Drinks were served fast but Shisha took about 20 mins.

Shisha was 800 liras but it’s a reasonable price considering it’s a prime location. The flavor was smooth and pleasant. I would recommend the Lady killer flavor if you’re not sure which one to order which is from a Turkish...
