3* for nice outdoor garden with chicken walking around. Food - seriously, I'm wondering how the place got 4.9* reviews. Very average, not even compared to other Turkish restaurants, but compared to Turkish food outside of Turkey. The place is a must visit if you want to try worst Turkish coffee. It tastes like water as if the used coffee grounds were used again. When I asked for a stronger coffee, I got something tasting like instant coffee. There were issues paying by card too, we didn't have enough cash and after some negotiations (which was difficult because server didn't speak English) we had to walk to some shop and pay there. That was not very pleasant as my girlfriend got food poisoning there and we were trying to get back to our hotel quickly. The inside of the restaurant was full of dirty dishes from the day before, which is not acceptable for hygiene reasons in the country I'm from (may be it's normal in Turkey though). Overall, it's a pity to see such a nice location not revealing it's potential. I wish it comes to a better management so people can enjoy nice food and drink in...
Read moreI’m very sorry to write this, but we didn’t like the way we were treated here. First, they didn’t have either of the things on the menu that I wanted (hummus and donner kebab.) Then, the lights went off twice when we were there. Next, the hookah they brought us wasn’t working properly and it took them a long time to fix it. Eventually, the food came but it took forever, even though there was almost no one else in the restaurant. Honestly all of that would have been fine, but when we were ready to pay the man told us indifferently that they had sent their credit card terminal to another business and that we had to pay in cash. That upset me because they didn’t warn us in any way beforehand, and that is no way to treat customers. Luckily we were able to scrape together enough lira (with some American dollars which they reluctantly accepted.) I was really quite disappointed in this place considering the...
Read moreNot sure how they end up with a 4.8 ranking. We regretted going. The food is overpriced. Not sure why you need 20 pieces of black pepper in a veggie appetizer (şakşuka). The fish soup was ok but for that price you can soup with more fish and less over spiced elsewhere. The rice with the chicken dish was overcooked, the potato bland, and the bread not fresh (heated in the grill, yes, but that barely conceals the taste of yesterday’s bread). One of the ushers can be quite obnoxious - chatting up and pursuing passersbys, especially women, who already expressed their disinterest. We had to ask for the bill twice. Music was on AND the tv but we could not actually discern what the sportscaster were saying (euro cup beat of 16 was on - def more relevant than the songs of the 2000s). To end on a positive note: the cats are adorable (not annoying) - they definitely enhanced...
